Consultation Questionnaire

A new draft Local Housing Strategy has been prepared which sets out the vision for housing in the Vale of Glamorgan over the next five years.

The Council is keen to obtain the views of residents and stakeholders with regard to the strategic direction for housing in the Vale and the content of the strategy.

To assist in this consultation we have provided a template with some questions that you may choose to respond to. Space has been provided for answers to each of the questions, if there is not sufficient space please continue on a separate sheet of paper and attach this to your response. You are able to provide responses independent of the suggested questions which will be equally taken into consideration

The consultation period will end on Sunday 28th September 2014.

Consultation Questions

  1. Section 2 of the strategy sets out the local and national context, and the key partnerships for delivery. Do you have any comments with regard to strengths, weaknesses or partnerships overlooked in this section?
  1. Section 5 of the strategy details the vision for housing in the Vale of Glamorgan, the four key aims and the planned approach to working towards achieving the aims using a focus on outcomes. Do you have any comments with regard to this section?
  1. Each of the four aims of the strategy are detailed in separate sections (sections 6, 7, 8 and 9). Do you have any comments with regards to each of the aims detailed below?
  1. To provide more homes and more choice; ensuring that all residents have access to suitable and affordable accommodation.

  1. To improve homes and communities; by ensuring housing is maintained and fit for purpose, increasing the supply of good quality, energy efficient homes in vibrant and sustainable communities.
  1. To providebetter housing advice and support; ensuring that residents have access to the housing and services they need to live independently and plan their housing futures.
  1. To promote equality of access to housing and housing services.
  1. The action plan which will accompany the strategy will be a ‘live’ document. The key actions that will form the basis of the action plan are listed at the end of each relevant section (pages 39, 48, 61, 64). Are there any key actions you think have been overlooked?
  1. Section 11 details how the strategy will be implemented and monitored. Do you have any comments regarding the implementation or any suggestions on how the monitoring of the strategy could be strengthened?
