Speakers

Professor Danny Samson:Danny is Professor of Management at the University of Melbourne (since 1988) and is Director of the Foundation for Sustainable Economic Development. He has a PhD in management from the Australian Graduate School of Management (1984).He has been a consultant to senior executives in most manufacturing industries and in numerous service sector organisations, including 10 years working on corporate strategy with the CEO and top team of a major bank with networks in the UK, USA, NZ and Australia. He regularly provides seminars and is a member of the Australian Manufacturing Council and Commonwealth Government Industry Task Force on Leadership and Management.

Dr David Charlesworth: David is the Executive Clinical Director of Emergency, General Medicine and Intensive Care for Eastern Health. He is the Director of Intensive Care Services for Eastern Health and Clinical Director of Box Hill Intensive Care. He trained as an intensive care and respiratory medicine consultant in Melbourne, Cambridge and London. He has significant experience in care of the critically unwell patient in remote sites, during long distance retrieval, on wards and within intensive care environments. He is the Chair of the Clinical Deterioration Expert Advisory Committee for Eastern Health and has been the clinical lead for the introduction of a comprehensive ‘Clinical Deterioration Prevention Framework’ across Eastern Health.

Mr Ian Grisold: Ian is Director of Operations atSt Vincent's& Mercy Private Hospital. Ian has held a range of management roles in medical and hospital environments. He holds a Bachelor of Business - Accounting and an MBA from Melbourne Business School. He has worked in senior finance and administration positions in a number of private hospitals across Victoria, including the position of CEO across a hospital network and National Operations Manager for a major health provider. More recently Ian has taken up the position of Director of Group Operations, responsible for the day to day operations of the three hospitals and business development within St Vincent’s and Mercy Private Hospital.

Ms Andrea Doric: Andrea is a RN who has a Graduate Certificate Critical Care and a Master of Clinical Nursing (Critical Care). Andrea is the ICU Liaison Nurse at Box Hill Hospital. She has worked as the Eastern Health ICU as the Redesign Project Lead forthe last 12 months focussing upon the Deteriorating Patient. This rolehas involved stakeholder engagement, data analysis, strategic planning,quality, risk, project and change management.
