Networking Project

Information Technology Fundamentals - Mr. Shultz

This project is worth 100 points. Using the example presentation from the class web page, you will search the internet to put information about your topic into the example presentation.

  1. Your topic is listed below. If you go to the class web page and click on the Networking Project Topics link, you will see the same information, and will be able to click on the topic, which takes you to the Wikipedia page to help you get started.

  1. Click on theNetworking Project Example Presentationlink from the class web page. Click on “Open” to open it in PowerPoint, and save it in your Z drive. When you save it, put your initials at the end of the file name. If you’re not sure that it’s in your Z drive, see me so that I can check. If you save in “My Documents”, it will be gone when you come back for your next class and you will have to start over.
  2. Using PowerPoint, modify the example file to include information about your topic. You may change the presentation colors, layout, add transitions and other effects, but they are not worth any points.
  1. Keep your bullet statements short – no more than two lines per bullet statement. Bullets longer than two lines will reduce your score by three points each (see the rubric on the back). Do NOT copy and paste to create your bullet statements. You may copy and paste into the Notes Pane for reference, then you can use that information to key in your bullet statements.
  1. On the Sources slide, you must list three sources you used, NOT including Wikipedia. I provide the Wikipedia link to get you started, and if you use anything from Wikipedia, include the URL on the slide. For your other three sources, copy and paste the FULL URL, NOT the name of the web page, I need to be able to go directly to the page you used. Also, search engines are NOT sources, they point you to sources, so do not list a search engine as a source.
  1. I will grade your project from your Z drive. If you work on it outside of school, make sure that the latest version is copied to your Z drive by the due date (check the class web page for the due date).

The rubric for points is on the back of this page.
