Course Aims:
The course aims to provide access to various career pathways available in the music industry and offers skill enhancement in music performance. Subjects include:Develop and update music industry knowledge; develop music knowledge and listening skills; follow health, safety and security procedures in the music industry; work with others; address copyright requirements; performance; playing music from writer notation.

Selection guidelines:
There are no prerequisites for this course however you need a demonstrated understanding of music or the ability to play an instrument
Pathways:
Certificate IV in Music Industry Skills; Diploma in Contemporary Performance: Undergraduate or Post Graduate Degrees.
VCE Unit Status:Scored or unscored - Up to four units: two units at Units 1 and 2, and a Units 3 and 4 sequence.
VCAL Unit Status:Industry Specific Skills strand – one credit per 100hrs of study
ATAR Contribution:
Where a scored Units 3 and 4 sequence is available it will contribute directly to the ATAR, either as one of the student’s primary four studies or as a fifth or sixth study.
For unscored VCE VET programs, students who successfully complete a Units 3 and 4 sequence can receive an increment of 10% of the average of the primary four ATAR subject scores.
Duplication: (if any)
Participants who partially complete the qualification will be issued with Statements of Attainment for any units successfully completed. Upon successful completion of all units’ participants will be issued with a Certificate and Statement of Attainment.
