VERY SPECIAL OMEN n BLESSING FROM OUR OLD PEOPLE
Each and everyone of you, my mob, including Sue and Stephen, have received a terribly special sign, omen, from our old people, and each and everyone of you, should feel very blessed and cherish this omen from your old people, for the rest of your lives.
To be told as a group of descendants travelling to your mother land (na-ja ga-pa), that the first sighting of our sacred and spiritual tribal totem, Mugga Mugga, are returning to us, to our sea country, is the greatest blessing you will receive from our old people, ‘they are happy’, that you are there, and a happy for this project, you have collectively received ‘the spiritual blessing’ of a life-time from the old people, the timing is right for this project. My mother, (Gonomi Elder, Aunty Sue Hansen) and I, are so very happy for each and every-one of you, especially for our young ones who are there.
Since time began, our dreamtime, Woppaburra Ancestors, wait each year, for our sacred spiritual totem, Mugga Mugga, to come home, on the commencement of their migration journey from the Antartic to the Great Barrier Reefto breed, the Woppaburra People of the Keppel Islands, rejoice and wait in anticipation and celebrate in knowing that their sacred spiritual totem, Mugga Mugga, will soon be home for a short while for another year and hope and pray that their Sacred Spiritual Totem, Mugga Mugga will continue to have safe passage as they travel their annual migratory journey, for breeding.
It is a ‘good omen’ that every generation of Woppaburra ancestors wait for each year, that everything in our world, our mother land (na-ja ga-pa) in our land and sea country, is as it should be, all elements of our mother land is continuing, there is ‘balance’ in the life cycles of all living things, that exist, in our Mother Land, our land and sea country.
Stephen, remember, before you went to the island, I advised you, if the old people are happy, they will give you a sign, an omen, you have received it my sunshine, please this is such a very ‘special gift’ from our old people. Congratulations my mob, to receive such a special omen/blessing from your old people, is incredible, never forget, the gift you have been given, keep the story living, and pass it down to your children.
Sue and Stephen, you now have the most precious welcome, blessing/omen from our old people, to proceed with this project, (they are happy, and so are we). The Old People have spoken.
