You must have received letters of Dr. J.M.Jadeja, Prof. & H.O.D. B.J.Medical college, Ahmedabad written on Date:26/01.2012 (for ready reference a copy is attached herewith)
In reference to above letter, we had organized a state conference on 19th Feb 2012 and H.O.D. of Physiology from several states also attended above conference.
It was decided in the above meet to hold “An International Conference on Basic and Applied Physiology” on 22, 23 December 2012to get international exposure on the subject of BASIC AND APPLIED PHYSIOLOGY. An international exposure is the primary and mandatory requirement for carrying out any original research in a particular topic of physiology.
It is a huge task to successfully organize any international conference by Department of Physiology(being a preclinical branch), it is difficult to obtain adequate sponsorships.
So, we request you all to fully cooperate us in this great first ever international conference anywhere in India in physiology.
Mainly we request all of you to register as delegate as early as possible (last date of registration is kept 31st August, 2012.) We do not intend to keep spot registration. This is necessary to get an idea about number of delegates. These numbers are necessary for an advance arrangement for meals, other arrangement getting and applying for grants from governments/semi government agencies or even private agencies.
Also we need to select exact venues as per the number of delegates participating.
We are organizing a pre conference workshop at Govt. Medical College Bhavnagar, on 21st and 22nd December 2012, which will include teaching of basic knowledge and training of instruments and skills involved in testing of following parameters:
- Cardiac Autonomic Function Tests, HRV
- EMG
- NCV Evoked potential
- TMT
- EEG
- PFT
We request you to motivate your faculty members, junior colleagues, post graduate students and other interested persons to send articles for our 1stissue of upcoming international journal of basic and applied physiology,as it is a rare opportunity given to any Indian/Asian young scientist, you are requested to grab this opportunity. Genuineness and sincerity of work will be prime requirements.
You are requested to send abstracts of research papers/posters to be presented in the coming international conference ICON-BAP-2012. This is also a golden opportunity. We will try to accommodate as many young scientists as possible.
Expenses involved:-
We will try to focus mainly on knowledge, academics in the conference rather than party-time, so we are trying to invite at least one Noble laureate in physiology in ICON-BAP-2012.For that we have to incur considerable expenses like to & fro airfare, good hotel accommodation & other travel expenses if any, and remuneration if needed. It may cost us few lakhs.
Same way, we may have to bear the expenses of few more guests and speakers (depending on budget).
All meals,venue expenses,breaksfast,tea/coffee & souvenir,files ,printing of journals,postage, miscellaneous are to be organised within delegate fees.
So, keeping in mind above expenses for an international exposure of knowledge in basic physiology and applied physiology: we need to get exact estimation of income & number of participating delegates.So we request you all to co-operate us in getting registered at the earliest (as delegates)
International society of basic and applied physiology will also be launched on this occasion.First issue of “International Journal of basic and Applied Physiology” will be displayed on the occasion. Currently it will be an annual journal. (One issue per year)
We have decided that the full contact details of all the subjects/participants and patients or the masters of the animals (including their addresses and mobile numbers)will be mandatory for any research articles to be considered for publication. This is to maintain full proof genuineness, originality of the research work going on. The details of the subjects/patients will be cross examined during review process of research articles to be published in above journals.
Note: - 10 % of contents from Non medical but innovative scientific material is welcome in the journal.
The main contact point and representative of your department will either be the H.O.D. or next senior most person attending the ICON-BAP-2012.You can register your suggestions regarding any matter of ICON-BAP-2012 through these representatives.
We hope you all will readily grab this great and historical opportunity to elevate our science in international arena.
