Vehicle Registration/Permission Form

2017-2018

All vehicles parked on the campus of Leesburg High School must be registered with the AssistantPrincipal over parking and display a proper Leesburg High School parking permit.

All students registering a vehicle for parking shall be required to submit a copy of their driver’s license with their License Tag Number. A parent or legal guardian must sign the parental consent form that is attached to the parking registration form. The student must also sign this form acknowledging their compliance to all campus parking regulations.

All vehicles must be registered prior to the end of the second week of school. Failure to properly register a vehicle will result in fines and possibly the removal of the vehicle from campus at the owner’s expense.

The cost of vehicle registration is $40.00 for all students. Lost parking permits may be replaced at a cost of $10.00 per permit.

Designated Student Parking Lot: Students may park only in the lot so designated by their assigned parking permit. Parking in any unauthorized lot will result in fines, disciplinary action, a parking boot being installed making it immobilized, and the possible removal of the vehicle from campus at the owner’s expense. The following lot is designated for student parking as indicated.

  • Student Parking Lot-Building 3 and 4 off Sumter Street
  • Moss Street Parking Lot (Next to Soft Ball Field) – Lot will be locked during school hours.

All students must adhere to the following parking regulations paying close attention to the items that are in bold and underlined.

  • Parking on the campus of Leesburg High School is a PRIVILEGE, not a right.
  • All students must have a permit to park on campus.
  • No student may loan, sell or otherwise transfer a parking permit to another student. Doing so will result in the permanent revocation of the student’s parking privilege for the remainder of the school year.
  • Permits must be displayed while the vehicle is parked on campus. The permit must be placed on the rear view mirror.
  • If use of an unregistered vehicle will be prolonged (more than one week), students must notify the administrator over parking and provide vehicle registration information.
  • Students who sell their registered vehicle shall retain their permit for their new vehicle or turn it in to the administrator over parking if they are not getting another vehicle. If a new vehicle will be driven to school, students must register it with the administrator over parking.
  • Students shall park only in those areas authorized by their permit. Parking in any lot designated for faculty is strictly prohibited and will result in fines for the possible removal of the vehicle from the campus.
  • Students are not permitted to go to their vehicle during the school day FOR ANY REASON. (Unless permitted by LHS Administrator) You must bring all books or other items that you will need during the school day to class with you when you arrive on campus.
  • Students shall not occupy their vehicles FOR ANY REASON while on campus during the school day.
  • No student shall loiter in any parking lot on the campus of Leesburg High School – before school or after school.
  • Students who are authorized to leave campus as part of any on-the-job training program, internship, or co-operative program must carry an ID Card and/or proof of their early release schedule.
  • No student shall drive down the service road behind the football stadium FOR ANY REASON. Students are not authorized to drive their personal vehicles anywhere on campus other than within their designated parking lot. No student shall park his or her personal vehicle at the Agri-Business classroom.
  • All students driving and parking on school campus must at all times operate his or her vehicle in a safe manner and observe the 10 mph speed limit as established by LCSB policy.
  • Students who are habitually tardy or who use his or her vehicle to skip school or leave campus without authorization may have their parking privileges suspended or permanently revoked.
  • Leesburg High School is not responsible for any damage, vandalism or theft of vehicles parked on school property.
  • Any fraudulent parking application will result in the permanent revocation of a student’s parking privileges for the remainder of the school year.

Fines and Penalties: Leesburg High School’s parking regulations shall be strictly enforced. Students found in violation of any of the above parking regulations will subject to the following fines and/or disciplinary action:

  • A fine of $10.00 per violation
  • Suspension or revocation of parking privileges
  • Removal of the student’s vehicle from campus at the owner’s expense

Penalties and fines shall be at the discretion of the SRD and the principal, and may be enhanced to reflect past incidents of misconduct or violations of campus parking regulations. Students who fail to pay their fines in a timely manner will be placed on the debt list and will not be able to purchase tickets for special school events or walk at graduation until their debt is paid in full.

I have read and understand the Leesburg High School parking regulations on both sides of this form and do hereby consent to follow said regulations. I understand that parking on campus is a privilege and is based on my adherence to all policies, procedures, and regulations set forth by Leesburg High School or the Lake County School Board. I further understand that I may be fined, have my parking privileges suspended or revoked, or be otherwise disciplined by school authorities for violating any of these parking regulations.
