CUBA REQUIREMENTS
Tourism:
· Valid Passport. (Minimum six months validity before date of expiration)
· Application Form
· 1 passport color photo.
· Airline tickets (itinerary to and from Cuba). It can be electronic ticket or photocopy of the original.
· Hotel reservation
· Bank statement (the last 3 months)
Tourist visa for temporary residents in South Africa:
· Valid passport. (Minimum six months validity before date of expiration)
· Application form
· 1 passport color photo.
· Airline tickets (itinerary to and from Cuba). It can be electronic ticket or photocopy of the original.
· Confirmed hotel reservation.
· Affidavit from the Police.
· Letter of the Employer
· Bank statement (the last 3 months)
Family or Personal Visa
Family or Personal Visa is given to people with close relatives in Cuba or people married to a Cuban citizen. Necessary documents to apply for:
· The completed and signed application
· 1 passport color photo
· A photocopy of marriage certificate or other document confirming the family relationships
· The cost for the personal visa is R770.00.
Business visas
There are two types of business visas:
· Business visa to explore business opportunities in Cuba (A-7)
· Business visa to engage in business operations, transactions or meetings in Cuba (D-7).
A letter of invitation from a Cuban Company or institution is not required to obtain a visa to explore business opportunities in Cuba, however information on the purpose of the trip shall be provided to the Cuban Consulate. It is recommended not to go to explore the market without getting in contact at least with one Cuban company interested in your business proposal and willing to meet with you while in Cuba.
Business visa to engage in business operations, transactions or meetings requires a letter of invitation from the Cuban company or institution and a letter from the South African company.
Both types of business visas (A-7 and D-7) are issued for a maximum stay of 7 days in Cuba, for a single entry only (every time you travel, you must request a visa). Extensions of business visas must be requested to the Immigration Directorate in Cuba by the Cuban interlocutor or counterpart.
If you travel frequently to Cuba on business, you can request a long-stay, multiple entry visa, to the Cuban institution you have links with (this procedure can only be carried out in Cuba).
To apply you must submit:
· Valid passport
· Completed and signed application form plus
· 1 passport color photo
· Letter of invitation from the Cuban company, organization or institution, addressed to the Cuban Consulate
· Letter from the South African company stating the full name of the person, purpose of the trip and length of stay (approximate date of departure and return), addressed to the Cuban Consulate
· The cost for the Business visa is R770.00.
Visa for Events
This type of visa is given to participle in events in Cuba. To apply for this you need to submit the followings documents:
· Valid passport
· Application form plus
· 1 passport color photo
· A letter from South African Institution confirming your attendance to the event. In this document should be appears the name of event
· Or invitation letter from the Institution in Cuba inviting you to attend the event. In this document should be appears the name of event.
