Firstly Tony Peachey(De Laune CC) for placing the signs around the course before everyone arrived and helped out in the hall to speed the finish times onto the board.

Ernie Mackey (Medway Velo Club) signed you in and handed you your number.

Christine Burrows (Thanet RC) sent the riders on their way at the start.

John Booty (Wigmore) pushed you away from the start towards the turn where

Alan Brown (West Kent RC) Alan Constable, Alan Mark Rowe (De Laune CC) ensured you turned at Charing Roundabout to make your way back.

Ian & Claire Silvester (De Laune CC) were your finish timekeepers.

I was grateful for the help of Jean Rowe (De Laune CC) in the‘cakes and spoons’ department

Vic Williams (Medway Velo Club) maintained the times on the result board, ably assisted by

Paula (De Laune CC) working the keyboard which calculated the vets standard times.

Congratulations to all prize winners. Please bear in mind that when riding VTTA events you must be a member of the VTTA in order to take any age related award.

I was glad that the rain held off just enough to allow the event to come to a close – though it was certainly cold. Nevertheless some excellent times were recorded especially by Keith Lea with a sparkling 21.50 ride, over a minute clear of everyone – well done. Well done also to Joshua Clark in taking the Junior award in a tight battle with Oliver Dickson.

I picked one trophy on the day – a pair of sunglasses found in the carpark, if you are missing a pair please contact me and arrangements will be made to return them to their rightful owner.

All that is left for me to say is I shall be organising this event again in 2017 – I hope to see you on the startsheet for another March romp along the A.20.
