UTA enables the payment of tolls in Croatia

·  Toll payment by post-pay procedure

·  ENC on-board unit (OBU) for vehicles over 3.5 tonnes

·  Transport companies save time and money

Kleinostheim – 16 January 2018. With immediate effect, customers of UNION TANK Eckstein GmbH & Co. KG (UTA) can pay the toll in Croatia via OBU. Any charges due will be settled using the post-payment method via UTA. The OBU provides cover for around 90% of the toll network in Croatia.

"Croatia is an important transit country for international freight transport," says UTA CEO Volker Huber. The reason: transport companies travelling internationally have to pass through the country, e.g. from South-East Europe to Central or Northern Europe.

That is why UTA now offers toll settlement for companies with vehicles of over 3.5 tonnes gross vehicle weight in Croatia, too. The requisite ENC OBU for vehicles of categories III and IV can be obtained after quick and easy registration with the UTA card at the sales stations of the Croatian toll company HAC. It can be used in the toll network of both HAC and ARZ highway operators. The tolls are calculated according to the number of kilometres driven. The drivers automatically receive up to 35% operator discounts and can also use the time-saving ENC track system, which does not require the driver to stop at the toll station.
