FIRST STEPS TO APLLY FOR AN ETSIT-UPV EXCHANGE
The first steps you MUST do to apply for an exchange with ETSIT-UPV are:
1 - Be sure ETSIT is your School of choice.
2 - Ask your home International Coordinator to check if you have an exchange agreement with us. If not, your school should sign one before sending students.
3- Check our courses, schedules and calendars.
4- Pre-enrolling electronically at our Central International Office Website
http://www.opii.upv.es/default.asp?web=8
After visiting all the other links, please select "On-line application procedure".
Please read carefully the directions before doing anything else!!
You will be given a login and a password to access your UPV enrolment profile. In this profile, you can check the progress of your exchange procedure with UPV as well as some notices.
5- After your pre-enrolling, your home International Coordinator has to officially appoint you as Exchange Student to our School. THIS STEP IS ESSENTIAL. No student will be accepted without his/her home coordinator's approval.
6- Then you can send us your application form and other papers. Electronic forms are welcome.
7- You can check if you are accepted or not visiting your UPV profile.

SPANISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
All incoming exchange students coming to ETSIT MUST give proof of their sufficient knowledge of the Spanish Language in one of the following ways:
-A certificate of having achieved level A1 (CEFR) of Spanish (http://www.coe.int/T/DG4/Portfolio/?M=/main_pages/levels.html)
-A certificate stating that they have taken at least 100 hours of Spanish language classes
If the student s actual language abilities do not correspond to the ones mentioned above, he/she will not be accepted in the Spanish language regular courses offered by the university, and could be refused enrolment upon arrival at UPV.
Although the minimum required level is A1, most Schools/Faculties at UPV may have stricter requirements, and applicants are strongly encouraged to reach at least a B1 level before arriving at UPV in order to follow the university courses taught in Spanish. The Spanish intensive course offered in our campus in Gandia can help the student reach the required level, but it is not enough by itself, as it only provides 50 hours of teaching.
Exceptions can be considered if the applicant intends to do ONLY project work (bachelor or master thesis, etc.) supervised in English or another language. A letter or email explaining this circumstance should be enclosed with the application material. These students cannot participate in the Spanish language regular courses, which begin at A2 level of CEFR.

ACCOMODATION IN VALENCIA
Accommodation in Valencia is mainly based on the "Shared flat with students" formula.
Valencia has a huge offer of flats for students: They use to have 3 to 4 private rooms and shared common facilities: kitchen, 1-2 bathrooms, sitting room, etc. Equipment and condition largely vary. Typical prices go from 175 EUR to 275 EUR a room/month. Thus if you are thinking of hiring a room in one of these flats, we recommend you to pass 2-3 days in a hostal or hall of residence upon your arrival while you look for the most suitable flat for you. Please continue reading below if you want to find a short-time accommodation.
NOTICE: You need not to buy any list of flats. Such lists are offered by some real-estate agencies which take advantage of your inexperience. You might feel dissapointed when you finally realize you did not need to buy any list. Remember our help is FREE.
Finding one is very easy. Some hints:
- Our Mentor Welcome Programme student will help you to find one.
- Notice boards are full of flat offers.
- There are several web sites:
ETSIT's is: http://www.apit.upv.es/marcos/apit.php?indice=/alojamiento/indice.htm&principal=/alojamiento/principal.php&titulo=/alojamiento/titulo.htm
UPV's are:

Other way is hiring a room in a Hall of Residence. In Valencia such residences are private companies. Some of them offer superb facilities and equipments, other good courses, sports or activities. Prices vary considerably. The link is:

And finally, you have the chance of true Spanish family life if you hire a room in a Family flat. Offer is not so ample, but you can check some in this link: http://apiwebs.rec.upv.es/pisos/pisos.asp" (choose "TIPO: Compartir con familia").
