Availability of UNT on the Square
UNT on the Square is a gallery/ exhibition/ performance space also suitable for certain formal and informal gatherings such as meetings or receptions. Availability and approval for use is based upon the following:
- Number of participants (max. 230 standing; max. 170 with tables/chairs, depending upon set-up configuration),
- Ability of UNT of the Square to accommodate and meet the logistical and security requirements of the event,
- Appropriateness of the event relative to the time of content of any exhibition or gallery show in progress at the time of the event,
- Safety and risk factors associated with the event as they may relate to any exhibition in progress at the time of the event (e.g. 3-D items on pedestals, proximity of food or drink to wall items not under glass or protective cover), and
- Other factors identified by the Director of UNT on the Square in consultation with representatives of the participating colleges.
The specifics of the exhibition in progress at the time of the rental/use will dictate allowable attendance, food service, and other parameters as defined by the Director of UNT on the Square. As a rule, once an exhibition has been installed it will not be modified or taken down during its display period for purposes of a rental.
Hours of Availability
The facility is available for use Monday through Friday evenings from 5 until 11pm and Saturday between 8am and midnight. UNT on the Square is not available for rental on UNT designated holidays. Weekday use (between 8am and 5pm) is determined on a case-by-case basis contingent upon other activities scheduled at UNT on the Square.

Reservations
The following chart indicates the time frame in which reservations can be made prior to the event date. Tier A facilities have priority in scheduling events at UNT on the Square.

Rental Payment
Renter will be billed for building use and all other established fees and costs upon completion of the event.

Building Attendants
Building attendants are normally required for rental functions occurring after 5 pm, on weekends, and in certain cases during business hours (e.g., large, busy event). UNT on the Square will work with A and B users to minimize need for paid daytime attendants and cannot guarantee that staff can take on that role at every daytime function.
Fees:
The current fee for building attendants is $15 an hour with a 4 hour minimum. Cost will be billed in addition to building use fees as part of the rental agreement.
Security
Security requirements are adhered to in accordance with UNT policy. Factors such as alcohol service, value of exhibition of display, and others will determine security requirements.
Contact Person
Each renter must designate a primary contact who has the authority to represent the renting entity and who can be easily reached. Where necessary, this person should be available to make rental arrangement in person at UNT on the Square and be present at the event set up and break down and.
Inventory/Catering
Renters arrange their own equipment such as tables, chairs, or sound system as well as catering. This can be done though outside vendors (in consultation with UNT on the Square staff) or through UNT facilities and catering services.
Alcohol Service
Permission to serve alcohol comes at the discretion of UNT on the Square subject to an in accordance with the applicable policies and regulations of UNT, Texas Alcohol Beverage Commission, and the City of Denton.
Event set up, breakdown, and cleaning
UNT on the Square assures that the facility will be clean, safe and functional at the start of the rental. It is the responsibility of the renter to leave the facility in the same condition. Failure to do so will result in the charges for cleaning services to be determined at the time they occur.
