Drupal Quick User Guide
NOTE: Do NOT use Internet Explorer when using Drupal, all other browsers are compatible.

Upload your bio and photo (faculty):

  • Enter your bio information in the staff data form located on the Intranet Index under the category Drupal.Save your information. If you are part-time, you will see a save to sandbox button, if you are full time, you will see a send to marketing button. Both buttons will save your information.
  • Upload your photo by going to the Intranet Index under the category Drupal.

Logging in/setting up an account:

  • New User-log in to Drupal on the Intranet Index or under Quick Links on the RCC home page using your RogueNet username and password. Send an email to to have your permissions set up. Internet Services will contact you to set up your website.
  • Current user-log into Drupal on the Intranet Index or under Quick Links on the RCC home page using your RogueNet username and password

Adding a page:

  • Click the wordAdd contenton the left sidebar.
  • Enter a title for the page
  • Select the Group Audience from the dropdown (this will be you or a department you have permissions to edit)
  • Check the menu link box if you want a link to the page on the left side navigation
  • Save the page

Editing a page:

  • Click on the edit tab at the top of your page to edit the page with a variety of tools in the toolbar ribbon.

Linking:

  • Internal/External links:
  • Highlight the text you want to link
  • Select the linking tool from the toolbar ribbon (looks like a piece of chain link)
  • Insert the URL (if it's going to an outside link)
  • Use the node number if the page is within Drupal, example /node/1234 (node numbers are located in the upper left of every Drupal page)
  • For email links insert:mailto:
  • Left Navigation links:
  • Within page edit mode, select the checkbox provide a menu link. Drupal will automatically link the page from the left side navigation
  • To add a link to another page in Drupal or to an outside location:
  • Copy the link URL (must be a fully qualified URL
  • From your home page, select the Group tab
  • Select menus
  • Select add link
  • Fill in menu link title (what you want to call the link) and path (complete URL)
  • Arranging link order
  • From your home page, select the Group tab
  • Select menus
  • Select list links
  • Use the + sign to drag links up and down

Images:

  • Inserting:
  • Select the image icon from the toolbar (green tree in a box)
  • Browse to where your image is located (either within your images folder or on your computer)
  • Click on the image you want to insert, click the green Insert file checkmark in the top right of the window ribbon
  • Add alternative text for ADA standards
  • Set the alignment--left or right
  • Click the OK button
  • Save the page

Tables:

  • Inserting:
  • Navigate to the page where you want to insert a table
  • Click on the Edit tab
  • Click on your page where you want the table to appear
  • Click theTable icon
  • Select your table properties (number of columns/rows)
  • Give your table a summary description and click OK
  • Editing
  • Right click on the table to select a variety of options.
  • Change the number of rows and columns, reset alignment and caption/summary within Table Properties
  • Adding a background color to a table cell
  • Right click on the table and select cellcell properties
  • Select the choose button to choose and insert a background color

File Management:

  • Add a file folder:
  • On your home page select the File Browser tab
  • Select/highlight the folder where the sub folder will be added
  • Select the Directory link in the top ribbon
  • Type the name of the new folder
  • Delete a file folder:
  • Select/highlight the parent folder of the folder you want to delete (the one above the folder to delete)
  • Select the Directory link in the top ribbon
  • Type the name of the folder you wish to delete in the textbox
  • Select the remove button
  • Upload a document or image
  • On your home page select the File Browser tab
  • Select upload from the top ribbon
  • Browse to your file or image and select the document or image by clicking on it
  • Select open and upload (you will see the document or image added to your directory)
