Update: Connecticut to Go Live with No Home State Applications, Adjusters for Initial Licensing and Convert Lines of Authority

Update: Connecticut to Go Live with No Home State Applications, Adjusters for Initial Licensing and Convert Lines of Authority

The Connecticut No Home State initial and renewal applications release has moved from September 19, 2016 to September 30, 2016. If there is a change in the new date, this notification will be updated accordingly. All other business rule changes listed in this notification that are NOT related to the No Home State applications will still release as scheduled.:

In preparation for the new initiatives, all Connecticut Gateway applications will be turned off at 4:00 p.m. (CDT) September 15, 2016. Any transactions submitted during this period will be declined until Gateway is turned back on Monday, September 19, 2016. Due to the interruption of the renewal applications, Connecticut will offer a grace period for resident and non-resident licensees whose expiration dates are between September 15, 2016 and September 19, 2016. Those specific applicants will have until September 26, 2016 to renew without penalty.

Connecticut to Go Live with No Home State Applications, Adjusters for Initial Licensing and Convert Lines of Authority

Effective September 16, 2016, Connecticut will go live with the new No Home State (NHS) license and renewal applications and offer Adjuster license types through Resident Licensing (RL), Non-Resident Licensing (NRL) and Non- Resident Adjuster Licensing with Designated Home State (NRAL-ADHS). In addition, there will be a line of Authority (LOA) conversion and changes to processing rules for all applications.

In preparation for the new initiatives, all Connecticut Gateway applications will be turned off at 4:00 p.m. (CDT) September 15, 2016. Important No Home State Licensing (NHS) Processing Rules (NEW)

  • Individual applicants must provide either residence or business address that is not in the state of Connecticut.
  • Business applicants must provide a business address that is not in the state of Connecticut.
  • Applicants must not have an active resident state license on PDB in any state.
  • In order for an applicant to apply or reinstate for a Casualty Adjuster or MVPD Appraiser the applicant MUST NOT have an active resident adjuster license on PDB (in any state).
  • In order for an applicant to apply or reinstate through the No Home State initial application for a Casualty Adjuster or MVPD Appraiser, the applicant MUST NOT have an active nonresident adjuster license on PDB (in any other state).
  • Background questions must all be answered “No”.
  • If answered “Yes” to background question, please submit supporting documentation to the NIPR Attachment Warehouse.
  • Non-citizens of United States must provide proof of work authorization to Connecticut.
  • All individual Casualty Adjusters must pass the required exam.
