2015/16 Planning
- Coaching & Refereeing
- There is demand in the county for a refereeing (or at least a scorers) course – many of the clubs could fill some spaces
- There is a list of local referees on the LVA website
- There is the potential to put on a UKCC Level 1 Coaching Course in Lincolnshire – NS is a tutor so would be able to deliver it
- A few individuals are also looking for a local UKCC Level 2 Coaching Course – not currently any scheduled locally
- Rules
- The rules document is set and any amendments must be agreed at the AGM
- It was proposed that Rule 1(a) regarding Volleyball England Affiliations was amended to ‘All clubs registering with LVA must be registered with the Volleyball England, unless it is a team entering the league/cup/plate from an educational institute’ – this was agreed by all
- It was also proposed that Rule 3(f) was amended to allow the use of non-official score sheets by teams. So long as score sheets included the set criteria as outlined within the rule, clubs are allowed to make their own score sheets to save on cost – this was agreed by all
- Competition Guidance Document (League Format)
- The league will be running with 7 teams therefore the format will be one division
- A home and away fixture is to be played against each team in the league
- It is recommended that half of the fixtures are played by the end of January to prevent a mad rush at the end of the season
- Any matches played after May will be void unless agreed by the committee
- There won’t be a set fixture list – it is the responsibility of each team to arrange their own home fixtures
- This is usually done by sending out a list of available home dates out to the other teams who will select their preferred date (first come first served)
- The scoring system used is designed to encourage teams to fight for every set – potential for 5 points each game
- 1 point = playing the match
- 1 point = per set won
- 1 point = winning the match
- Cup Competition
- 8 teams have entered the Cup competition
- All matches drawn at the AGM will stand and are as follows:
Lincoln Eagles
Vs
Spalding Saracens / Lincoln Cannons 1
Vs
University of Lincoln / Harlaxton
Vs
Ruskin Rebels / Spalding
Vs
Ruskin Recreationals
- Winners of these matches will progress through to the Cup
- Losers of these matches will progress to the Plate
AoB
- Lincoln Cannons VC have entered the National Volleyball League for the first time – this is the first NVL representation from a Lincolnshire community club
- If any clubs have any high level men or women in their clubs who are looking to play at a higher level (as well as playing for your club locally) please get in touch with NS for details.
- MVP – Most Valuable Player is voted for by the opposition at the end of every game – please can all teams ensure that MVPs are recorded on the score sheet before signing
