A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in loving memory and honor of Katherine "Kay" Lansdale Wood.

With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Katherine "Kay" Lansdale Wood, and we pause in silent reverence for her soul.

WHEREAS, Katherine Lansdale Wood was born on June 11, 1960, a native of Maysville, Mason County, Kentucky, and she traversed these earthly bounds on October 26, 2003; and

WHEREAS, Katherine Lansdale Wood was the loving daughter of Donald L. Wood and the late Peggy Parker Wood; she was the devoted wife of retired Circuit Judge Robert I. Gallenstein; she was the loving mother of two sons, Donald Chanslor Gallenstein and Benjamin Wood Gallenstein, and the loving step-mother of a step-son, Nicholas Gallenstein; and she also leaves behind a loving brother, Taylor Wood, and a loving step-mother, Debbie Wood; and

WHEREAS, Katherine Lansdale Wood graduated from Mason County High School in 1978; she graduated from Maysville Community College in 1980 and from Georgetown College in 1983, and she graduated from the Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University in 1986, after which time she was admitted to the practice of law, and later became a partner in the law firm of Fox, Wood, Wood, and Estill; and

WHEREAS, Katherine Lansdale Wood was an esteemed member of the Mason County community, where she was an outstanding citizen and a friend to many, and she will be sorely missed by all who had the good fortune of knowing her; and her funeral service was held on October 29, 2003 at the First Presbyterian Church in Maysville, with the Reverend William Reed and the Reverend Steve Gallenstein officiating; and

WHEREAS, the passing of Katherine "Kay" Lansdale Wood has left a void that cannot be filled, and she is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The House of Representatives does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of Katherine "Kay" Lansdale Wood, and extends to her family and many friends its most heartfelt sympathy.

Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Katherine "Kay" Lansdale Wood.

Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to the Honorable Robert I. Gallenstein, 737 Clarks Run Road, Maysville, Kentucky 41056.
