A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in loving memory and honor of Polly Jane Davidson Waite.

WHEREAS, Polly Jane Davidson Waite departed this life March 14, 2006, and the members of this august body pause in silent reverence for her soul; and

WHEREAS, Polly Jane Davidson Waite was the adored mother, loving wife, and friend of so many, all who knew her as Jane; and

WHEREAS, Jane Waite was born in Boyd County, Kentucky on February 7, 1934; and

WHEREAS, Jane Waite was the dutiful daughter of Elbert A. Jack Davidson and Snow Justice Davidson; and

WHEREAS, Jane Waite was a caring and accomplished woman, devoted to her family and her community; and

WHEREAS, Jane Waite the giving and loving wife of Lem C. Waite; and

WHEREAS, Jane Waite was the caring and loving mother of five children, Lemuel W. Waite, Jane Ann Waite McKeough, Peggy Lynn Waite Guilbeau, William Zachary Waite, and Samuel Davidson Waite; and

WHEREAS, Jane Waite served her community as manager of a fabric and sewing concern; and

WHEREAS, Jane Waite and her family established a fine restaurant in Catlettsburg, Kentucky; and

WHEREAS, Jane Waite was more than just a business women, but also a gardener, a designer, and an accomplished artist, talents that made the world around her a better and brighter place; and

WHEREAS, Jane Waite was an outstanding teacher of her children, the most valuable contribution of all, exemplified by their recollections of their mother." "She taught us to stand on our own, to be neighborly, to have a good word to say, and to say 'I love you' often"; and

WHEREAS, the loss of Polly Jane Davidson Waite leaves heavy the hearts of her family, her friends, and her entire community;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The members of the House of Representatives join with Representatives Charlie Hoffman and Rocky Adkins in expressing their sincere condolences upon the loss of Polly Jane Davidson Waite and extend their deepest sympathy at this difficult time.

Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in loving honor and memory of Polly Jane Davidson Waite.

Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is hereby directed to deliver a copy of this Resolution to Representative Charlie Hoffman for presentation to the family of Polly Jane Davidson Waite.
