A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in loving memory of Sara Beth Benson of Smiths Grove, Kentucky.

The beautiful angel known to us as Sara Beth Benson has been taken

home and we pause in humble reverence to mourn her passing.

WHEREAS, Sara Beth Benson was only seventeen when she was tragically lost in an automobile accident; and

WHEREAS, Sara Beth Benson was a junior at Warren East High School where she was gifted academically, ranking fourth in her class, and she was a dedicated member of the Lady Raiders basketball team, golf and tennis teams, Beta Club, Future Business Leaders of America, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and the International Club; and

WHEREAS, Sara Beth Benson was a devoted member of the Oakland Baptist Church where she was assistant director of the church's outreach food ministry; and

WHEREAS, Sara Beth Benson's brief life on this earth was full of love and compassion for her fellow man -- she never sought recognition for her selflessness -- she quietly worked and gave to others so that their path in life would be easier; and

WHEREAS, Sara Beth Benson's death has left a void that will never be filled in the hearts of her friends and her family -- yet her unique and shining personality and her many gifts to everyone around her will forever be remembered by her parents, Deon and Mary Benson, sister Catherine, brother Daniel, grandparents Charles and Ernestine Benson, and the entire community of Smiths Grove; and

WHEREAS, Sara Beth Benson is now cradled in the hollow of God's hand and all those fortunate to have known her are better to have been in her presence while she graced these earthly bounds;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The members of this body, both individually and collectively, mourn the loss of our special and gifted native daughter, Sara Beth Benson, and posthumously proclaim her to have been an outstanding Kentuckian and exemplary representative of the Commonwealth.

Section 2. When the Senate does adjourn this day it does so in loving memory of Sara Beth Benson of Smiths Grove, Kentucky.
