The assessor’s original decision as to whether the item should face full Equality Impact Assessment: / No
The reasoning behind this decision:
The landlord registration pack provides information for current and potential landlords at what is required to advertise to student housing. These criteria are based on standards of the property and on the expected conduct of the landlord and it is felt that they do not have a differential impact on any of the equality groups and therefore have a low priority for full assessment.
The preliminary EIA panel’s advice as to whether the item should face full Equality Impact Assessment / Yes
If this decision differs from the policy owners, the following are the reasons why:
it was felt these need to be carefully written as we are dealing with external parties, and their actions could have serious repercussions for the University.
The assessor’s final decision as to whether the item should face full Equality Impact Assessment: / No
If this differs from either the original assessment or the panel’s advice the following is the reasonwhy:
we feel that we take great care when writing the registration packs so that there are no repercussions on the University. The criteria are written in line with Portsmouth city council to meet housing legislation standards and housing law, we do not just make up these criteria.
These criteria above and beyond the housing standards requirements of the local authority and these are reviewed every year in conjunction with the housing standards team at PCC to check if there had been any changes.
