UNIVERSITY OF CINCINNATI DITLE PROGRAM

2016Summer Program Application

DITLE is a strategic educational initiative by the University of Cincinnati (UC) to prepare Cincinnati high school students for post-secondary education and careers in Information Technology. The program is funded by the National Science Foundation and is implemented by a collaborative effort between UC’s School of Information Technology, UC’s School of Education, and partner high schools in the Cincinnati area.

The DITLE Summer program is a 3 week intensive summer IT camp designed to give students a solid foundation in computer fundamentals, computer application development, database and networking concepts. The program is a hands on, project based, team oriented learning experience at the University of Cincinnati campus using UC state of the art equipment and instructors.

This program is offered at no charge to students. All materials and equipment will be provided. Transportation from the participating high school to the University of Cincinnati and back from the University of Cincinnati to the high school will be provided each day. Lunch will be provided each day (please note any dietary restrictions in the application).

The camp will run from June6 – 24, 2016, Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 4 PM at UC Main Campus. All students are required to commit to the full 3 week program as the projects will be team oriented.

Students are nominated to attend this summer program by high school teachers because the student shows excellent potential in math, science, and/or computing. There are very few nominations in each school so each student should be proud of this nomination.

This application will need to be completed and returned to the high school by March 31st, 2016. The applications will be reviewed by the University of Cincinnati and the students will be notified of acceptance into the summer program by April 15th, 2016.

If you have any questions about the program or this application, please contact your high school teacher/counselor or other advisor who provided this application.
