LANGUAGE OF DIDACTICS (programs, courses, exams): / Our courses are in Italian. At the moment our University does not provide Italian language courses. The Office informs incoming students about Italian language courses offered by private Centres in Venice.
Being IUAV a member of the VIUVeniceInternationalUniversity, at VIU Erasmus students could also attend Italian language course + another VIU course without charge.

We also need two passport-size pictures and copy of passport or similarID document.

DEADLINES FOR LEARNING AGREEMENTS
/ No deadline for learning agreements. We suggest to take it with you at your arrival, already approved by your home institution, and validate it directly by your IUAV tutor professor.
CREDIT SYSTEM:
ECTS / The degree courses held at Università Iuav di Venezia are:
- Laurea: 1st cycle degree. It is the Italian bachelor-level degree of the Bologna Declaration. It has a length of 3 years - full time. Workload: 180 ECTS credits
- Laurea Magistrale : 2nd cycle degree. It is the Italian master-level degree of the Bologna Declaration.It has a length of 2 years - full time. Workload: 120 ECTS credits
For both degrees, 60 credits measure the workload of a full-time student during one academic year.
At Iuav 1 credit ECTS= 25 hours (didactics+ student’s individual work/study)
We use our local grade system, but at the end of Erasmus period IUAV issues a transcript of records certifying both local grades and ECTS grades and credits.

WHAT YOUR STUDENTS MUST ABSOLUTELY KNOW: / It is better to arrive one weekbeforethe beginning of semester in order every student may have enough time to knowthe University and the town and enrolto the courses.
At their arrival Erasmus and visiting students must enrol at Student Mobility Office - Mobilità Internazionale Docenti e Studenti Studenti – Campo della Lana, 601 – Venezia.
Lectures of “industrialdesign” and “fashion design”are held in Treviso. Treviso is about 20 km far from Venice, it has good transport connection (bus and train) to Venice, too.
IUAV gives to incoming student a login and a password for the computer services.
As for lodging, IUAV has no campus. Most foreign students find private rooms with advertisements, that is why it is better to arrive in advance. The regional service ESU ( offers few rooms; students must apply by e-mailto
