Universal, space-saving and easily removable

Lohne, April 2009. – As an innovative feature by comparison with similar models, the GPN615 multifunctional protective elements are provided with a special ring lug that makes them much easier to remove: the two semi-circular halves of the tab are simply raised to form a grip, with which the plug or cap can be detached quickly and easily. Moulded-on pimples permit a firm hold of the tab. As the two halves of the tab lie flush with the top of the cap or plug prior to removal, their space requirement is negligible; there is no waste of space during storage or transport.

These versatile universal protective elements have been developed by Pöppelmann GmbH & Co. KG Kunststoffwerk – Werkzeugbau, Lohne/Germany, for its standard KAPSTO® range. While they are intended primarily as protective plugs for female metric and inch threads and for boreholes, they are also suitable as protective caps for male threads and as protective caps or plugs for the ends of pipes and hoses. The GPN615 protective elements are injection moulded from yellow-pigmented, chemical and oil resistant polyethylene (PE-LD). The combined effect of resilient material and conical design makes for a reliable fit in all applications, even in cases of relatively wide tolerance. The GPN615 protective elements are available ex stock in 11 different sizes between 7.7 and 44.8mm. They can also be supplied, if required, in special heat-resistant or particularly flexible materials.

Constantly undergoing further development and improvement and manufactured in Pöppelmann's own production facilities, the standard KAPSTO® range comprises more than 3,000 different plastic protective plugs and caps for immediate ex stock delivery. Special versions, e.g. plugs combining sealing and assembling functions, can be designed and developed by Pöppelmann's own team of application engineers exactly in accordance with customer requirements.


