Toxicological propertiesFirst Aid measures
EFFECTS of ACUTE EXPOSURE / FIRST AID MEASURESEYES: Irritation. Will not damage eyes. / EYES: Wash eyes with plenty of water, holding eyelids open, for 15-20 minutes. Irritation? Seek medical attention.
SKIN Contact: Drying. Irritation possible with prolonged contact.
SKIN Absorption: Slight, but no toxic effects anticipated. / SKIN: Wash with soap and plenty of water. Remove contaminated clothing – thoroughly clean or launder.
INHALATION: Over 1000 ppm - vapour irritating, may cause headache, dizziness, drowsiness, intoxication. / INHALATION: Remove from contaminated area promptly. If breathing stops, administer artificial respiration and seek medical help promptly.
INGESTION: Low toxicity. Accidental inhalation of liquid or vomited material into lungs likely to cause inhalation pneumonia. / INGESTION: Give 2-8 ounces of water.. Do not induce vomiting. Keep casualty quiet. If vomiting occurs, keep victim’s head below the hips to prevent inhalation of vomited material. Seek medical help promptly.
EFFECTS of CHRONIC EXPOSURE
Prolonged or repeated exposure may cause nausea, dizziness, and headache.
SYNERGISTIC: No evidence of effect. CARCINOGENICITY: No evidence of effect.
REPRODUCTIVE TOXICITY: No evidence of effect. SENSITIZATION: No evidence of effect.

Preventive Measures
LEAK / SPILL PROCEDURE: Dyke to control spillage and prevent environmental contamination. If fire potential exists, blanket with foam as a precaution. Ventilate the contaminated area. Recover free liquid with explosion-proof pumps. Absorb residue on dry sand, earth, etc.Store in closed containers for disposal.
WASTE DISPOSAL: Do not flush to sewer. May be incinerated in an approved facility.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
HANDS – “Viton” or nitrile gloves recommended.
EYES – Chemical safety goggles.
RESPIRATOR – Not required unless material is hot and vapour is emitted; mechanical ventilation required and/or a respirator with organic vapour cartridges.
CLOTHING –Not required. Non-slip footwear/flooring strongly recommended.
STORAGE / HANDLING: Store and use in a cool, dry environment, away from sources of ignition, heat and oxidizing agents.
Caution: Cloth or paper soaked in mineral spirits may undergo spontaneous ignition. Never discard such wiping cloths or paper without due care. Dry fully before discarding.
Use with adequate ventilation. Ground the container before handling to prevent static discharge, which may cause ignition of this product or other products in the workplace. Do not cut, drill, weld or grind on or near this container. Avoid prolonged contact with skin. Wash work clothes frequently. An eye-bath and safety-shower should be available near the workplace.
