Book Report Tic-Tac-Toe Activities

1. Choose 2 character from your book. With another person, role play a scene from the book featuring these 2 characters.
  • Realistic costumes and props
  • Voice projection & expression
  • 5 minutes long
  • Written script
  • Presented live or pre-recorded on video for class viewing
/ 2. Write an alternate ending to your book. This should change what happened in the last chapter.
  • Appropriate for characters & setting
  • Creative, but feasible ending
  • Two pages long (typed or neatly handwritten)
  • Correct grammar, usage, & mechanics
/ 3. Draw at least 3 comic stripsthat highlight 3 important events in your book. Make sure the dialogue is realistic for the characters.
  • At least 4 panels per comic strip

  • Must be colored or artistically shaded

4. Design an advertisement poster for your book. Include interesting details that would make others want to read it.
  • Standard poster board size
  • At least 5 pieces of important info
  • Title
  • Pictures/graphics
  • Persuasive
/ 5. Create song lyrics or a rap to tell about your book. Use the book title as the song title.
  • Includes a summary of the plot
  • Has a catchy chorus repeated between verses
  • 2 minutes long
  • Written lyrics
  • Perform for class or pre-record audio and/or video to play for the class
  • May use instrumental music or beat from an existing song
/ 6. Draw a picture of an outdoor setting in your book and write a paragraph describing it and how it affects the story.
  • Picture should be colored or artistically shaded
  • Paragraph describes details of the setting and explains its effect on the story
  • Paragraph is neatly handwritten or typed
  • Correct grammar, usage, & mechanics

7. Write a letter to the author telling why you like or dislike their book. Give valid reasons for your opinion.
  • Clearly state the likes and dislikes and explain
  • At least 3 reasons
  • Reasons supported by facts or examples from book
  • Neatly written or typed
  • 1-2 pages long

  • Include a side for each of the following: illustrated title, characters setting, plot, favorite part, & illustrated scene
