Unit Summary

This unit is about the realisation or production of 2D and 3D prototypes, models, mock-ups, artwork, samples or test pieces using small-scale techniques. Designers need to understand how their final design will be made, function and perform to check that their ideas will work in practice and be suitable for the client. Learners will be involved in providing design support to the lead designer, for example contributing ideas, using craft skills or recording the results of tests.

Unit Information

It is expected that before the unit is delivered, the tutor will have read the Qualification Specification to ensure all conditions regarding Rules of Combination, delivery, assessment and internal quality assurance are fulfilled. Additional guidance is available below as Assessment Guidance for Learning Outcomes and Assessment Criteria in bold.
