Initial Activities / The teacher will review fable elements using as reference some of the fables read in class. / Review previous class. Give a few examples of dialogues on the board and orally. / Review last class. The teacher reinforce the use of simple past tense. / Students will edit their story using sticky notes with a partner to help with ideas, dialogue, vocabulary, misspelled words or grammar. / The teacher explains the rules for the presentation and process of evaluation.
Development Activities / Using the writing process students will begin to plan their fable.
Students brainstorm their story using a Story Map Graphic organizer, Individually or with a partner to support ideas and vocabulary. / Using the writing process the students will write a dialogue for his/her fable practices writing dialogues. / Students begin writing their own fable using the past tense of verbs. / Students use the sticky notes done by their classmate to edit and publish their work. The teacher reviews their works. / Students present their fable in order to complete the performance task: Writing My Own Fable
