Unit 1 What do you do on weekends?
Weekends are Saturday and Sunday. I like weekends because I don’t have to go to school on weekends. On Saturday, I usually go to a mall and see a movie with friends. On Sunday, I go to church and grocery shopping with Mom. I get a good rest and enjoy my free time on weekends.
Unit 2 What’s your hobby?
I have two hobbies. I enjoy reading books and listening to music. When I spend time reading and listening, I feel happy and relaxed. I think hobbies are important to people’s lives, because hobbies give people happiness.
Unit 3 Hamburger or Sandwich?
I like eating hamburgers better than sandwiches. My favorite burger is cheeseburger. It tastes so good. You can also make hamburgers at home. They are easy to make. Hamburgers and sandwiches need some lettuce, cheese, and tomatoes. However, hamburgers usually have meat inside and sandwiches have ham inside. Isn’t this interesting?
Unit 4 Favorite Day of the Week
My favorite day of the week is Saturday. On this day, I can see a movie at night, and go to bed late. I feel refreshed and energetic. However, I don’t like Monday, because I can’t rest enough, and get lots of homework. Therefore, I feel stressed and down.
Unit 5 Detention
I think giving students detention is a good way of punishing the students. This is because students will get some time to think about their wrongdoings during the detention hour. If I were the teacher, I would explain why I am giving them detention. I think this is ideal because they will understand my decision and will try to be more responsible next time.
Unit 6 Where is the bus stop?
Big Mama’s bakery is a very famous place in my neighborhood. It is huge inside. It takes about 10 minutes on foot from my house. To get there from my house, you need to turn right at the first corner and walk straight for 2 blocks. Then you will find the place.
Unit 7 Homework
I usually get too much homework every day. I like doing homework. A good thing about doing homework is I can review what I learned in class. However, homework can sometimes be unnecessary especially when I can learn something from fun hands-on activities. Homework can be fun. That is why I like doing homework.
Unit 8 Are you a bookworm?
I like reading books. I go to the library once a week. I think reading books is very important because it teaches us many fun facts. Some people think reading is boring, but I think they are wrong. I think we need to read books more often, so we can gain our knowledge.
Unit 9 What’s your favorite holiday?
My favorite holiday is Christmas. The date of Christmas is December 25th. On this day, I usually eat pies and drink eggnog with my friends and family. This holiday is special to me because I get presents from Santa Claus. When I think of Christmas, Santa Claus pops into my head.
Unit 10 My Best Friend
I prefer dogs to cats. Dogs are friendly to people. They can give joy to people. Dogs can play Frisbee with me, but cats can’t do it. Also, dogs like to run with people, but cats don’t like to run with us. This is why I think dogs are better than cats.
Unit 11 Sports
Players are playing basketball in the picture. Five players are needed on each team. Players are blocking each other in the picture. They need equipment like a basketball. They can use hands during the game.
Unit 12 Music
There is a woman in the picture. She is playing the flute. The location of the picture is in the concert hall. She is wearing a pink dress. The picture looks amazing.
