Unforgettable Vacation with John

John Seong was a friend of mine from Seoul, South Korea. He was a simple kind of friendly and easy-going person. Whoever talked or interacted with him would admit that he was the nicest guy in this world! Personally, I knew him when he came as an exchange student in my campus last year. So before he went back to Seoul, my friend and I decided to take John for the summer vacation at Bali, Indonesia.

Tall and spike haired John was really excited when we asked him to join on this vacation. He also told us that he could not wait longer to go off shore with his surfboard. At this moment, we realized that John was also interested in surfing. No wonder his skin was a little bit tanned, not like most of Koreans who were known for their bright and light skin.

We departed to Bali at the beginning of July, right after the campus announced the summer holiday. The trip which took about 6 hours straight was seemed too short for the three of us that always chatted hilariously, played bridge, and ordered extra beverages like there were no other people in the aircraft. We stayed in ecstasy from the departure till the arrival on Bali’s InternationalAirport. Everybody was shocked when knowing that we were actually not siblings.

John and I had the same taste in enjoying seafood dishes. Both of us loved prawns, especially the grilled ones. In Bali, it was not difficult to find tasty seafood dishes with affordable prices. Moreover, the seafood was fresh. I remember once when we were ordering lobster, John ate most of it and finally only left a small chunk of lobster meat for me. That was the moment I realized the greedy side of my Korean friend.

Besides the seafood, we also often had ourselves sunbathing at the famous KutaBeach. My female friend and I preferred to sunbathe while John enjoyed himself surfing. We often take a peep on John behind our sunglasses and made funny jokes of him. He was really the type of guy that you would love to spend holiday with.

For nearly two weeks, we pleased ourselves just like living in the paradise. The beautiful sunsets, the passionate sea waves, and the figures of people surfing on the beach; they were really awesome. But of course it was more awesome that every moment we spend together was with the friendly John. Again, unfortunately it was only two weeks’ spree.

After then, John went back to Seoul. We really missed him with his lousy face when we made jokes on him. We miss you, John!
