CDW Unveils Technoliner, The Ultimate Technology Vehicle

Most Connected Vehicle of its Kind Brings IT Solutions Portfolio on Tour

VERNON HILLS, Ill. – April 7, 2013 – CDW, a leading provider of technology solutions for business, government, education and healthcare, today revealed its ultimate technology vehicle, the CDW Technoliner™, the most connected vehicle of its kind, as an interactive demonstration of CDW’s technical solutions and capabilities. The 48-foot vehicle represents the first mobile implementation of a dynamic, synchronized stadium video system, high-density Wi-Fi network technology and a retractable 14-foot video wall. In addition, a total of 15 network-connected HD displays, mounted cameras and live video feeds, and powerful audio systems can all be controlled wirelessly from a mobile app.

“Our latest brand campaign used the idea of winning on the road from a mobile office powered by CDW. The Technoliner extends that idea and brings the ‘winning on the road’ concept to life,” said Neal Campbell, senior vice president and chief marketing officer at CDW. “The Technoliner will allow our customers to actually experience CDW’s IT solutions portfolio and better understand how these technologies can help their businesses succeed.”

After debuting in Atlanta, the Technoliner will travel the country to educate and inform through hands-on demonstrations at local venues.

All the technology onboard the Technoliner was selected and configured by CDW solution architects and engineers, including:

  • Cisco Connected Stadium to bring together all forms of access, communications, entertainment and operations onto a single platform
  • Cisco StadiumVision to deliver a real-time, immersive video experience on 15 video displays in and around the vehicle, via network-connected digital media players
  • Cisco StadiumVision Mobile to deliver live streaming video to mobile devices
  • Three Cisco Unified Computing System rack servers with a unified ExpressPod package with Cisco network switches, VMware software and NetApp data storage arrays
  • A retractable high-definition video wall with six Planar 60-inch daylight viewable LED displays
  • Three 55-inch LED Elo touchscreen displays for interactive demonstrations
  • Six Samsung LED displays
  • HP OfficeJet Pro X printer
  • Apple iPad and iPod touch devices, Apple TV and Mac mini computers
  • Approximately 4,000 feet of high-speed network wiring

The vehicle also features an engaging touch screen technology experience called CDW Explore IT to showcase solutions based on specific customer needs and interests.

Built in collaboration with West Coast Customs, the Technoliner will be featured on an episode of the West Coast Customs television program this summer on Fox Sports.
