In order to be considered, joint applications mustcomply with the following requirements:
- No more than three researchers may be involved.
- The researchers must hold research positions or be enrolled as doctoral students at different universities or equivalent institutions located in the territories of different national associations (i.e. one researcher per university/institution and per member association).
- One of the researchers must be designatedas leadresearcher to act as UEFA’s sole contact person and to present the final report if a research grant is awarded.

- An application of no more than ten pages describing the proposed research (the Research Grant Programme Regulations give full details of the information required)
- A one-page summary of the application
- An ethical clearance letter if required for the planned research – particularly for medical research and research involving minors
- A CV of no more than one page (for each researcher)
- Copies of the researchers’passports or national identity cards
- Proof of registration as a universitydoctoral student or a copy of a doctorate certificate and proof of employment at a university or equivalent institution (for each researcher)
- Copies of two academic articles published by the lead researcher in peer-reviewed journals or presented at an academic conference
- The declaration to UEFA duly completed and signed by the researcher(one declaration per researcher, document available at
- One letter of recommendation from a representative of a UEFA member association. If several national associations support the same research project, only one letter is required and it must be signed by the 'lead' national association.
- Each researcher must provide a letter of recommendation signed by a professor at a university or equivalent institution that is not the university/institution of any of the researchers and is not a referee used by one of the other researchers.
The letters of recommendation must attest to the importance of the proposed research (in academic terms, for the national association(s) concerned and for European football in general) and the quality of the applicants. They must be written on official headed paper and scanned. In the case of an applicant resubmitting an application on a similar topic, the same letters of recommendation can be used as forthe first application.
Applications must be emailed to . They must reach UEFA by 31 March 2018 (24.00CET) in order to be considered for the 2018/19 Research Grant Programme.
Applications that do not conform to the naming conventions outlined in point 2.3 of the UEFA Research Grant Programme Regulations will not be considered. The UEFA administration will acknowledge receipt of all applications by email.
