ABSTRACT

This template should be used for submitting your abstract for the fifth International Conference “ENERGY in BUILDINGS” to be held in Athens, Hellas on Saturday October 21, 2017. Authors can use this template to insert their text directly in the document. Submissions should be original technical papers, not previously published elsewhere.

The Conference is organized by the ASHRAE Hellenic Chapter in collaboration with the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE). It brings together professionals of all disciplines associated with the built environment including engineers, architects, professors, researchers, building owners, property managers and investors. Information and videos from the previous conferences are posted on www.ashrae.gr/events.php.

The abstract should provide a coherent overview and sufficient details about the background and technical content in order to reveal and substantiate the quality of the work. The word count of the abstract body should not exceed 400 words and fit in this template page. Authors may also include a couple of relevant references, if necessary. The main conference topics include: GREEN BUILDING DESIGN, OPERATION & MAINTENANCE, NEARLY OR NET ZERO AND NET POSITIVE ENERGY BUILDINGS, RENEWABLE ENERGY IN BUILDINGS, TRENDS IN HVAC SIMULATIONS & ENERGY MANAGEMENT, SMART BUILDINGS & CITIES, ADVANCES IN REFRIGERATION AND ALTERNATIVE REFRIGERANTS, EMBODIED ENERGY, LIFE CYCLE ASSESSMENT (LCA), ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNS AND HIGH PERFORMANCE BUILDINGS, INDOOR ENVIRONMENT QUALITY (IEQ), HEALTH & COMFORT, DAYLIGHT & ARTIFICIAL LIGHTING, ADVANCED MATERIALS AND APPLICATIONS, REFURBISHMENT SOLUTIONS FOR IMPROVED ENERGY PERFORMANCE, HYBRID ALTERNATIVES FOR POWER AND HEAT BALANCING STORAGE AND DEMAND, SUSTAINABLE NEIGHBORHOUDS, REGIONS AND CITIES.

Abstracts should be submitted by May 15, 2017 to . They will undergo peer-review by the Conference Scientific Committee. Full papers up to 10 pages must be submitted by July 17, 2017. Submitted full papers will also be peer-reviewed. Papers may be considered either for oral or poster presentation.

Approved papers will be published in an electronic media publication (e-Proceedings book with an ISBN number). Oral presentations will be videotaped and uploaded for free viewing on the conference website.
