4. CLASSES AND ENTRY FEES
Classes: Kids 9-13 yrs: motorcycles and quads
Novice: motorcycles and quads
Open: motorcycles and quads
Entry Fees: (Including supper tickets)
Kids: R100
Other: R150
ELIGIBILITY OF RIDERS: No rider will be allowed on the course if the indemnity is not signed and processed.
5. EVENT AND STATUS
5.1 The event will be known as the Twin Oaks Mountain Challenge and will start on the farm Orange Springs, Modderpoort, on Saturday, 17 March 2012 at 07:00 when documentation commences and will be deemed to have finished on Saturday, 17 March 2012 at 17h00.
5.2 The event will be a “fun” event in which riders can come and enjoy a day’s ride in new and unfamiliar surroundings, in the Modderpoort Valley near Ladybrand.
5.3 TESTING AREA -
None
5.4 ROUTE
Start on a pre-prepared Pit Area as demarcated. – The route will comprise of one loop of 23km which wil be ridden 4 times or if time bar kicks in at 16:00.
5.4.1 The route has been designed for approximately 1 hour of racing under various conditions per loop.

7. REFUEL, REFUELLING AND THE DESIGNATED SERVICE POINTS
There will be one refuel. This will be in the pits as the race is really not that long. Service Crews will be responsible for using a “greenmat” so as not to spill any fuel on the ground.
8. RETIREMENT AND COMMENT FORMS
8.1 RETIREMENT
Should a competitor retire from the event they are required to immediately to notify the nearest marshal/official of this fact in and then proceed to the Race Secretary as soon as possible and hand in their route check sticker, and complete an incident report form.
8.2 COMMENT FORMS
All Competitors will be issued with a Comments Form at documentation for completion and return on finish or retirement. Please fill these out so that we can do better next year!
9. SWEEPS AND RECOVERY
It is intended that there will be sweep vehicles on all racing sections to pick up competitors who are injured or stranded. Competitors are to note that the Organisers are not obliged to provide any services for the recovery of motorcycles/quads but will endeavor as far as possible to assist where-ever possible.
10. COMPETITOR CONDUCT
All service crews must carry a fire extinguisher with a minimum capacity of 2.5kg to be located next to the vehicle being refueled. Please do not under any circumstances deviate off course, we are riding through private farms throughout the fun ride and do not want to cause any unnecessary damage to private property. If any rider is found cutting wires or any damage to any property you will be asked to leave the ride immediately!
11. PRIZEGIVING
Prizegiving starts at 18h00. Trofees will be awarded to the first place winners in the categories, Kids 9-13yrs, Novice, and Open Classe in the events for motorcycles and quads. Second and third places will be rewarded with medals.
12. LUCKY DRAW
The Lucky Draw will take place straight after the pricegiving event.
13. SUPPER
After all the excitement of the day, competitors, friends and family are welcome to join us for a braai. Competitors eat for free. Crew members and spectators buy their tickets at the control tent.
14. SCRUTINEERING
Self scrutineering will apply. A self scrutineering form will be provided at Documentation. The competitors will complete the scrutineering form accurately and truthfully and submit to Documentation before the start of the event.
15. RIGHTS OF THE CLERK OF THE COURSE – PROMOTERS & ORGANISERS
The Clerk of the Course reserves the right to alter the departure times and route if forced to do so, due to inclement weather conditions, or for any other reason.
16. POSTPONEMENT ABANDONMENT OR CANCELLATION
The Organisers reserve the right to postpone, cancel or abandon the fun ride or any part thereof. In the event of postponement, cancellation or abandonment the Competitor/Entrant has no claim against the Promoters/Organiser in respect of any loss or damage that the may thereby incur. The meeting will not be postponed, cancelled or abandoned without the consent of the Jury of the Meeting.
17. PUBLIC ROADS
Crossing of Public/District Roads
All competitors are reminded that all road and railways crossings must be treated as stop signs. Failure to comply will result in exclusion at the sole discretion of the Clerk of the Course.
