TURNAROUND MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION NJ MEMBERS RACE FOR THE CURE
RARITAN, NJ – May 14, 2013 –Members of the New Jersey Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association (NJTMA) participated in the 2013 Komen North Jersey Race for the Cure®in West Orange, the largest Komen fundraising event in North Jersey on May 5th. TEAM TMA led by Captain Anne Roslin of Buckman Buckman & Reid, Inc. raised over $1,500 for the cause. The Susan G. Komen for the Cure® North Jersey Affiliate is committed to providing breast cancer education, screening and treatment for underserved and uninsured women who cannot afford to pay for these life-saving services.
Each year, devoted supporters Jane Mitnick of SM Financial Services Corporation and Anne Roslin of Buckman Buckman & Reid Inc. as well as their friends and family participate in TEAM TMA, and this year was no different. They were out in front, leading the team and cheering everyone on.
“As a daughter and friend of women affected by this disease, I was heartened to see so many friends and strangers walking as one to raise money and support finding a cure. It’s just one small thing we can do to make a huge difference for people who need crucial treatment,” said team captain Roslin.
Mitnick credits the race organizers with putting on a fantastic event. “Each year they work to make it a little better and different, and this year there was a Kids’ Dash that was very exciting. Our part was only 5K, it’s an easy family-friendly way to support a deserving cause.”
Patients and survivors, men and women, children and seniors, the event drew from every segment of the community to highlight the need to find a cure. Participants reported anuplifting sense ofcamaraderie, love and supportas they made great strides in awareness for cancer prevention and research. Up to 75 percent of the net income from each affiliate race stays in the local community to fund breast health education and breast cancer screening and treatment projects.
