Turn your vacation upside down at Six Flags New Orleans!

With the addition of the newest Six Flags theme park in the United States, New Orleans has added a major attraction to its long list of family friendly offerings. Six Flags New Orleans offers 140 acres of thrilling rides, musical extravaganzas, Cajun and Creole food, and unique shops - fun for all ages!

The former site of the Jazzland theme park, the property was transformed in 2003 by more than $20 million in capital improvements, including the addition of two spine-tingling new roller coasters. One, Batman: the Ride, is a world-class, suspended looping steel coaster that takes riders on a soaring, 50-mph journey 105 feet into the air along 2,700 feet of twisting steel track. With only air beneath their feet, riders will experience hairpin turns, vertical loops, corkscrews and a one-of-a-kind, zero-gravity heart line spin that will leave them screaming for more! The other new coaster, The Jester, will thrill riders with its 360-degree vertical loop and 79-foot drop! And, it travels backwards! The park also added more than 50 mature live oak and magnolia trees, shaded walkways through its midway, and cool “pop jet” fountains offering visitors a refreshing experience when they need it.

Other new attractions include the live stunt show, Batman Thrill Spectacular, a specially redesigned Looney Tunes Adventures area, the Broadway-and Vegas-style revue, State of Rhythm, and much more. Visitors can also enjoy special seasonal events like the delightfully spooky Halloween celebration, Fright Fest.

When you have had your fill of the rides and stage shows, take a break to enjoy a meal or snack at one of the many dining establishments on site. Choices are highlighted by local Creole flavor, poboys, and snowballs. And several shops stock official merchandise, Looney Tunes wares, Mardi Gras paraphernalia, and more, making the perfect gift easy to find!

Six Flags is conveniently located just 15 minutes outside of downtown New Orleans, which means a day of family excitement is even closer than you think! Whether you're looking for fun games, an array of shopping, delicious food options, upbeat shows, or rides for the entire family, this is one place that has it all.
