Turlock Church of Christ Family Life Minister Description:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
∙Teaching: Educate using age-appropriate material in a variety of settings including Bible classes, camps, one-on-one studies, retreats, and small groups, stressing the application of God's Word.
∙Recruit, support, and equip volunteers from the congregation and outside resources to assist in building a vibrant family ministry that will facilitate the spiritual development of our students and their parents/guardians.
∙Build and maintain an attractive ministry to our neighboring families looking for a church to help them in raising their children.
RELATIONAL:
∙Develop and strengthen the following relationships: Participants in the student ministry and their friends; parents with children in the student ministry; facilitate strong relationships among peers as well as other members of the congregation; families in the congregation.
∙Activities designed to build relationships may include: one-on-one meetings (to include Bible study), regular communication, attend non-church events (athletic, academic, etc.) to offer support and encouragement.
∙Intentional relationships should include mentorship, accountability, spiritual growth, and encouragement to help everyone involved walk closer with Jesus.
MISSIONAL:
∙Be part of our teams that carry out our outreach events such as V.B.S., Fall Festival, etc.
∙Set up and teach evangelistic studies with those outside of Christ.
∙Follow up with visiting parents and teens in the hopes of showing them the Gospel and encouraging them to surrender their life to Christ.
∙Be open to mission trips.
∙Have a proven record of evangelizing the unchurched.
OPERATIONAL:
∙Attendance at church leadership meetings.
∙Work with church leadership to develop goals and a plan to achieve those goals.
∙Share in the work of the overall ministry team of the church. Work closely with the elders, preacher and secretaries.
∙Maintain office hours in support of the ministry team and church functions.
DESIRED QUALITIES:
∙A Spirit-filled minister with a vibrant prayer life who possesses humility and maintains victory in the area of purity.
∙Passion for students and their families and especially for people outside of Christ.
∙College degree. A degree in family/youth ministry preferred. Someone who is already experienced in student ministry desired.
∙If the candidate has strong worship leading/singing skills that would be a plus.
∙No desire to be a pulpit minister.
