Tulliallan Primary School 2018 Parent Information Session

Tulliallan Primary School is a new school that commenced in January 2017 for prep to year 6. It has been built through the New Schools Public Private Partnership. Our school’s core buildings can accommodate 475 students but the future forecast for enrolments at the peak will be at approximately 1000 students.

Our school values excellence, respect and community from students, staff and parents. All students will be provided with a comprehensive education with diverse opportunities to develop skills to achieve their personal best. Our students and community will embrace a partnership of lifelong learning to be able to contribute as citizens in the community and in our future complex and changing world.

Our core values are; RESPECT, RELATIONSHIPS RESILIENCE, REPSONSIBILITY. Each member of the Tulliallan school community adheres to the positive values and respectful relationships for the benefit of creating a harmonious culture.

Our school is developed around Learning Communities for year levels. Each Learning Community has a team of teachers. Each student has a Home Group teacher and works with their Home Group as well as with all teachers and students in the Learning Community.

The Victorian Curriculum is delivered with explicit teaching and learning of the learning areas of English, Mathematics, Science, Human and Social Sciences, Technologies with specialist subject areas of Health and Physical Education, Music and Performing Arts, Visual Arts, STEM, and Mandarin language. The four capabilities (Critical and Creative Thinking, Intercultural Understanding, Personal and Social Capability and Ethical Understanding)critical for students to learn is integrated into subject areas as well as the wellbeing approach to students at our school.

School Times

8.50am / Music for children to make their way to class.
9.00am / School begins
9.00-11.00am / Sessions 1 and 2
11.00-11.30am / Recess – All children go outside and are supervised by teachers in each section of the school.
11.30-1.00pm / Sessions 3 and 4
1.00pm-1.10pm / Lunch Eating Time – Students eat inside
1.10pm-1.50pm / Lunch Break – All children go outside and are supervised by teachers in each section of the school
1.50pm-3.20pm / Session 5 and 6
3.20pm / Dismissal Time – Prep children must be collected from their Learning Community

EXTRA PROGRAMS OFFERED:

Student leadership – school captains, House Captains, Student Representative Council

Swimming – This is an important program for all students usually in Term 4 depending on Pool availability.

Private Music tuition – Guitar, Keyboard and Singing (Parent Payment required)

YMCA – Before and After School Care – operates from 6.30am to 6.30pm

2018YEAR 1 TO 6 ACCEPTED STUDENTS

These students are invited to attend the Orientation Day session from 9.15am to 1pm on Tuesday 12th December 2017 to familiarise themselves with the Learning Community and meet some students and teachers in preparation for 2018. Parents will receive a letter in November outlining the invitation and further information about parent payments, dates, uniform updates and proposed events for 2018.

2018 SCHOOL STARTS ON TUESDAY 30TH OF JANUARY AT 9AM AND WE WILL HAVE A WELCOME ASSEMBLY AT 3PM IN ELM STADIUM FOR OUR STUDENTS AND PARENTS ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND.

ENROLMENT PROCEDURES

Due to the increased enquiries and interest we have set the following times for tours to minimise the disruption to the daily organisation of the school and our students learning.We urge all parents who wish to enrol their child/ children at Tulliallan Primary School for 2018 and reside within the DNS to enrol as soon as possible so that accommodation requests and staffing can be advised to the Department of Education for a smooth start to 2018.

All Prep enrolments are to be finalised by 30th June and Year 1 to 6 enrolments by 18th August 2017.
