Catholic Family Services of Simcoe County is a non-profit, charitable organization providing counselling, walk-in clinics, groups and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to individuals, couples and families. Walk-In Clinic/ICF/EAP Clinician

Position Summary:

This Walk-In/ICF/EAP Clinician will provide evidence-based individual, couple, and family counselling. This will involve providing single session counselling for the agency Walk-In Clinics and counselling within a brief clinical service delivery framework for the Individual, Couple and Family (ICF) and Employee Assistance (EAP) programs. This clinician will also complete the associated clinical documentation, provide referrals for internal and/or external service provision as warranted, and ensure the completion of client outcome measures. Travel is required to provide coverage for agency clinicians (e.g. vacation, leave of absence) within Simcoe-Muskoka with location assignment based on need and availability. Counselling is provided at the Barrie location and 6 satellite locations: Collingwood, Orillia, Midland, Bracebridge, Alliston, and Bradford.

Qualifications

  • Masters level required in a related clinical discipline e.g. M.A. Counselling, M.Sc. Couples and Family Therapy, Masters of Social Work, M.A. Psychology
  • Current membership with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, i.e. Registered Psychotherapist, or the Ontario College of Social Work and Social Services Workers, i.e. Registered Social Worker, and a relevant professional association if applicable (e.g. AAMFT/OAMFT, CCPA, OACCPP…)
  • Minimum of three years clinical experience providing individual, couple, and family counselling
  • Experience providing single session counselling or counselling within a brief clinical service delivery framework
  • Effective clinical formulation and intervention skills with commitment to best practice standards, and a strength-based and anti-oppressive approach
  • Strong knowledge of various individual, couple and family interventions, e.g. Family Systems, CBT, Solution Focused, Narrative, grief counselling
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong interpersonal skills and flexibility to work in various office spaces with a variety of staff (e.g. Intake workers, Administrative staff, collaborative partners)
  • Accurate and timely documentation, meeting professional and organization standards
  • Ability to provide services in a second language (in addition to English) will be considered an asset
  • Must be able to work two evenings per week
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license and access to reliable vehicle; travel is required for this position.

Hourly Pay Range: $31.00 to $37.00 per hour paid on a fee-for-service basis.
