How do I register my child for school?

  • Tahoe Truckee Unified School District is an Open Enrollment District.
  • On the registration form you will be asked for your 1st, 2nd, or 3rd choice school.
  • Pick up a registration packet from your 1st choice school or the District Office.
  • The completed registration packet should be turned into your first choice school or the District Office by Monday, April 25th.

How do I know which school is my neighborhood school?

  • District Boundaries- check website ttusd.org or map at schools.

Can I register at more than one school?

  • There is no need, we will share the information.

What paperwork do I need to turn in with the registration packet?

  • Enrollment Card
  • Legal Birth Certificate
  • Immunization Record
  • Proof of Residency
  • Report of Health Examination for School Entry/Physical Exam (CHDP)

Can I turn in an incomplete registration packet?

  • No. With the exception of the Report of Health Examination for School Entry/ Physical Exam (CHDP), we need a complete packet.
  • Parents should schedule School Entrance Physicals (CHDP) with their doctor now and, we will take the form from doctor’s office when physical is complete.

What is the application process for the Two Way Immersion Program at Kings Beach or the Multiage Program at Donner Trail? (If needed, there is a lottery for these programs.)

  • Attend Information Meeting.
  • Complete enrollment packet and turn into school of choice or District Office.
  • Students requesting enrollment in one of the above programs must have complete registration packets (with exception of physical (DHDP). Incomplete packets will not be entered in the lottery.
  • Lotteries will be held on April 29th.

What is the application process for the alternative program? (Parents of English Learners may waive their right to English Only Instruction)

How do I request an alternative program waiver?

  • Request a waiver application meeting with the principal.
  • After the meeting, complete and return a waiver request form.
  • Waivers will be approved within 20 days.
  • Students with an approved waiver will be offered enrollment at any established alternative program in the district or may be put on a wait list at their school until there are at least 20 students at a grade level with an approved waiver, at which time the Alternative Program will be implemented at that grade level.

What is the enrollment age for kindergarten for the 2011-2012 school year?

  • Students must be 5 on or before December 2, 2011. The state of California is changing the age requirement for enrollment over the next 4 years. The Kindergarten Readiness Act requires that children entering kindergarten be at least 5 years old by November 1 for the 2012-2013 school year; October 1 for the 2013-2014 school year; and September 1 for the 2014-2015 school year.
