Purpose of the role (job statement)
To work individually and as a member of a team to secure the safety and welfare of pupils during the lunch-time period.
Responsibilities
Key duties:
  • To supervise pupils in the dining hall, playground areas and school premises.
  • Feeding pupils where appropriate, taking in to account feeding plans
  • To carry out associated ancillary duties (for example setting up and clearing tables, cleaning up spillages.)
  • Attend to pupils’ personal needs including toileting, hygiene, dressing and feeding, as well as help with social, welfare and health matters, reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate.

Experience of working with children
A small number of our children exhibit challenging behaviours and all staff are expected to work with them.The school will ensure that:
  • Staff are aware of which children do have behaviour support plans/risk assessments in place.
  • Where appropriate involve staff in devising behaviour support plans/risk assessments
