Supplementary Regulations

1. Title & Authority:

The event will be known as The Loveday 350 hereinafter referred to as “The Event” and shall be held under the provisions of the International Sporting Code of the FIA, the National Competition Rules (NCR) of the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport Ltd., the Off Road Standing Regulations, these Supplementary Regulations and any Further Regulations which may be issued.

The event will be conducted under and in accordance with the CAMS Risk Management and Occupational Health and Safety policies, which can be found at

2. Venue:

The venue for the event isLoveday 4x4 Adventure Park 15k South of Barmera in the Riverland SA.

6. The Event:

The event is a Multi-club long course off road event, the surface of which is mainly sand and hard packed clay, winding and open scrub and a variety of jumps and whoops.

The event will be conducted in 2 sections with cars starting a minimum of 30 seconds apart.

Section 1 3 x lapsof the 35 km course commencing at 2.30pm Saturday 31st October 2015.

Section 27xlaps of the 35km course commencing at 10am Sunday 1st November 2015. At the completion of 4 laps all competitors will have a 30 minute service break Competitors must present themselves and their vehicle to the start area at their allocated start time, to complete their final 3 laps of the course

6.1 Allowed Time

To be classified as a finisher, a crew shall complete a section within the time allowed as follows:

Section 1: 2 hours

Section 2: 5hours 10minutes

The total competitive distance will be approximately 350 km.

The competition will start at 2.30pm on Saturday, 31st October 2015 and will be preceded by a prologue and top ten shoot out to determine starting positions.

The Top Ten Shootout will be contested by the 10 fastest teams in prologue. Starting from position 10, teams will get another run at the prologue circuit. Results will decide final starting order for section one.

6.2 CREW BRIEFINGS

Briefings for competing crew will be conducted prior to the prologue on Saturday31st October at 10:40am with sign on from 10:00am and on Sunday 1st November at 9:30am with sign on from 9:00am before the event proper. Crew Briefings will take place at Event Headquarters.

Attendance at each crew briefing by each entered crew member is compulsory, and each competing crew member is required to sign on. Cases of non-attendance may be referred to the stewards by way of a formal charge, which may result in a penalty.

6.3Prologue

The prologue will be held on Saturday 31st October 2015, starting at 12:00pm. The length of the prologue will be 7 kilometres.

Competitors will start the prologue in the following order: Production 4WD, Superlite, Sportsman, Super 1650, Performance 2WD, Extreme 4WD, Pro Lite Buggy, Extreme 2WD and Pro Buggy

Competitors not finishing the prologue may apply to the organisers to be seeded. The closing time for applications for seeding will be 15 minutes after the completion of the prologue.

6.4 Top Ten Shoot Out

The Top Ten Shoot Out will commence after the completion of the prologue. The ten fastest cars over the prologue course will run the prologue course again. The results of the shootout will determine the start order.

The Shoot Out is compulsory for the ten fastest cars in the prologue. (Refer Off Road Standing Regs 8.2).

7. Entries:

Entries OPENMonday 14th September 2015 and CLOSE at 9:00am Saturday31stOctober.

Entry fee for this eventwill be$170.00 if received by 26 October, for entries received after this date and up to the close of entries at 9:00am on Saturday 31 October the entry fee will be $190:00

There will also be an admission fee into Loveday 4x4 Adventure park payable at the gate of $20 per person for the weekend. This applies to every person over 14 years of age. Under 14 free

Additional navigators may compete, providing they are properly nominated on the entry form, no additional fee required.

Competitors are required to get their memberships prior to race day.

Navigator only single event licences (NONSE) will be available on the day. Please contact the event secretary prior to the event so a briefing can be organized.

Entries withdrawn by written advice only to the Secretary of the Meeting before Monday 19th September 2015 will receive a full refund.

Entries will be accepted on a first served basis. The promoter reserves the right to refuse entry in accordance with NCR 83.

8. Cancellations, Abandonment or Alterations:

In accordance with the provisions of Article 15 of Off Road Standing Regulations, the promoters reserve the right to postpone, cancel or abandon the event if in their opinion the number of entries is insufficient or if conditions constitute “force majeure” as outlined in NCR 59. If the event is terminated when part run, the organizers shall determine results among those competitors who have not retired or been excluded to that point.

9. Eligibility:

The event is open to all members of a CAMS affiliated club, and holds a current CAMS Licence as follows:

NO – National Off Road

NON – National Off Road Navigator

NOJ – National Off Road Junior

NONJ – National Off Road Navigator Junior

NONSE – National Off Road Single Event

Each crew shall consist of two persons (with exception of vehicles fitted with one seat).

Competitors may at any time, up to close of scrutiny, change vehicle and /or driver / navigator on the entry form upon notification to the Secretary of the Meeting.

10. Scrutiny:

All vehicles must be presented for scrutiny as follows

Cars must be presented at times previously mentioned. All competing vehicles must comply with section 12 – Off Road Vehicles in the CAMS Manual.

The following items must be presented to the Secretary of the Meeting prior to being scrutineered:

  • CAMS competition Licence
  • CAMS pass book
  • Current CAMS – affiliated car club membership card
  • CAMS vehicle log book

Competitors must also present their vehicle, helmet(s), and racing apparel to the Scrutineer/s for inspection.

Vehicle log books will be held by the Chief Scrutineer until the completion of the event.

11. Pit Passes (wrist bands)

Will be supplied to Drivers, Co-Driver, Navigators and Pit Crew with names and competition numbers on them. Wrist bands MUST be worn at all times. These passes willpermit access to the Venue and Pit Area.

12. Reconnaissance

Crews will be given the opportunity to reconnoitre the long course on Saturday October 31stfrom 7:00am. Long Course reconnaissance must be done in a suitable road registered vehicle. ONLY nominated crews and officials are to participate in reconnaissance. No vehicle will be permitted to commence long course reconnaissance after 7:30am.

Prologue course reconnaissance will available from 11:20am on Saturday 31st October. No vehicle will be permitted to commence the prologue course reconnaissance after 11:40am. Prologue reconnaissance must be done in either a competition vehicle or registered four wheel drive and ONLY nominated crews and officials are to participate in reconnaissance.

The maximum speed for reconnaissance shall be 80km/h. This will be monitored and enforced. A competitor or crew found to have exceeding the 80 km/h speed limit will be charged and face the stewards for possible penalty.

Each occupant of a vehicle undertaking reconnaissance must wear a seat belt.

13. Safety:

Refer to Article 13 of the Off Road Standing Regulations in the 2015 CAMS Manual of Motor Sport in relation to:

  • Fire extinguishers
  • Hot Work Area
  • Emergency Procedures
  • Procedures in Case of Injury
  • Warning Triangles
  • Flags

14. Refuelling and Hot Work Area

  • ALL REFUELLING MUST BE DONE IN THE PITS. Refuelling and servicing during the service break must be done in the pits.
  • Refuelling at all times must be in accordance with the conditions as per the refuelling requirements in the current CAMS Manual of Motor Sport (Ref 5.10).
  • All persons involved in refuelling operations, or within two metres of refuelling or venting points whilst the vehicle is being refuelled, are to wear the correct attire of a minimum attire of at least shoes with non–flammable socks and clothing from waist to neck to ankle, and have the minimum fire extinguisher as set out in the CAMS Manual. Refer to Standing Regulations 4.6(iii)
  • ALL WELDING, OPEN FLAMES and GRINDING must occur in the designated HOT WORK AREA .UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES is any welding, grinding etc permitted outside of the designated HOT WORK AREA. Any competitor who does so may be excluded from the competition and asked to leave the venue.

15. Judges of Fact:

All recovery crew and timekeepers will be deemed Judges of Fact with regard to whether or not a vehicle follows the prescribed course as well as relative order, time of arrival and direction of entry controls. Competitors are reminded that there is no right of protest against the decision of a Judge of Fact.

16. Protests:

Any protest must be lodged according to the provisions of part XII of the National Competition Rules.

17. Penalties:

The following penalties will apply at this event.

17.1JUMP or FALSE START- 1 minute

17.2If repeated or blatant breaking of the start, exclusion. All wheels must be stationery until starting order is given.

17.3DELIBERATE SHORT CUTTING or deviation from the course will be 30 minutes; exclusion will apply for a second offence.

17.4DANGEROUS DRIVING (as determined by the Stewards) - Exclusion

17.5DELIBERATE INTERFERENCE with or impeding other competitors a minimum of one (1) minute, at the Stewards discretion.

17.6FAILURE TO SIGN ON PRIOR TO THE COMPETITOR BRIEFINGS: Five (5) Minute per offence.

17.7Additional penalties may be given by the Stewards.

18. Use of Prohibited Substances

Any holder of a CAMS ‘Competition’ or ‘Officials’ licence (or equivalent licence issued by another ASN) may be tested for the presence of drugs (or other banned substances) and subject to a penalty(ies) for a breach in accordance with the CAMS Anti-Doping Policy and/or the CAMS Illicit Drugs in Sport (Safety Testing) Policy as published on the CAMS website. Consumption of alcohol in the paddock, pits or any section of the competition venue/course under the control of the Officials is forbidden until all competition is concluded each day. Accordingly, any holder of a CAMS ‘Competition’ or ‘Officials’ licence (or equivalent licence issued by another ASN) may also be tested for the presence of alcohol by a CAMS Accredited Testing Official (CATO) in accordance with the CAMS Standard Operating Procedure for Breath Alcohol Testing.

19. Practice:

There will be NO PRACTICE before or after the event.

20. The Pits:

Refer to Article 14.2 and 14.3 of the Off Road Standing Regulations in the 2015 CAMS Manual of Motor Sport.

  • Pit and competing crews must display their passes on the outside of garments at all times whilst in the pit area
  • Smoking or the consumption of alcohol is not permitted in the pit or hot work are
  • No unauthorised persons, including persons under the age of 16 that are not competing crew members, are permitted in the pit area.
  • Competing Crew and Pit Crew members are reminded of their responsibility regarding the wearing of passes at all times and of the entry of unauthorised persons into their pit area.
  • The pit area will be clearly signed and fenced.
  • The maximum permitted speed is 20km/hour.
  • Entry in and out of the pit area must be via the designated entry point/s.

Only tow vehicles and competition vehicles are permitted in the pits.

Breaches of any of these regulations may be referred to the Stewards by way of a formal charge, which may result in a penalty.

21. Incidents & Recovery:

Anyone involved in/or assisting in an incident during the event must report to the Secretary of the Meeting before leaving the track. Competitors assisting in an incident will be able to request time compensation from the Clerk of the Course. Recovery vehicles will be placed around the track to recover breakdowns.

22. Rules for Passing:

It is the responsibility of the slower competitor to give way to an overtaking competitor even if this means coming to a complete stop. The Stewards may impose a time penalty against any competitor found guilty of a Breach of this rule when two or more independent complaints against the competitor are reported.

23. Impounding:

The organizers reserve the right to impound any vehicle after the event, in order to verify compliance with declared specifications

24. Additional Information:

  • No fuel will be available at the track
  • Catering will be available from Friday evening throughout the whole weekend.
  • Speed limit in the camping area is 10km
  • There will be an alcohol and noise curfew of 11pm on Saturday night
  • Camping is available at the track $20 per person.
  • No animals in the tavern or lawn area.
  • No burning of crank cases, tyres or rubbish.
  • Please place all rubbish in the bins provided.
  • NO GLASS
  • No BYO into the tavern or grassed area’s
  • No quads or bikes allowed.
  • No collecting of firewood on the property.
  • No night driving except on main access road to enter or leave.
