REGISTRATION PROCESS

FIRST . . . register your library

1. You can check to see if your library is registered under the Participant’s Roster at: http://www.asl.lib.ar.us/traveler/travRegistration.htm

2. Fill in the form and click on submit.

The next registration deadline is Nov. 16, 2001.

3. If you are already registered but need to make changes use the Update Registration Form

NEXT . . . Sign up for a list to stay current with what is happening: http://www.asl.lib.ar.us/fulltext/listsub.htm

THEN . . . EBSCO and OCLC will contact each library directly with access information, and

GALE and World Book URLs are located at the top of the Arkansas State Library web page,

under EBSCO, GALE and WORLD BOOK NEWS.

FINALLY . . . You are ready to search approximately a week after registration – the time element depends on the size of the registration group.

Registration provides school participants with:

1. EBSCO Public and School

2. Gale’s Discovering Collection (public and high school only)

3. OCLC Base Package

4. World Book Encyclopedia [through June 2002] -- a joint purchase with the Arkansas Dept. of Education

USING THE DATABASES

Libraries will have access to the databases very soon after registration, usually within one or two weeks, depending on the size of the registration groups. Access is through the school’s Internet browser and can be set up as links on school web pages.
