By Car from Skipton or Settle

Malham Tarn lies more or less to the north of Malham Cove, and High Trenhouse is on left side of the moorland road from Malham to Arncliffe. Please note that sat nav directions are not accurate for this destination so do print out the instructions!

·  From Skipton (14 miles, approximately ½ hour)
Leave the by-pass on the A65 towards Kendal. After 4 miles turn right at Gargrave (opposite garage) for Malham. After passing through Airton and Kirkby Malham keep left through Malham up the steep hill. After three miles of single-track moorland road you reach a crossroads. Continue straight on and High Trenhouse is on your left.

·  From Settle (5 miles, approximately 10 minutes)

Leave Settle on the Hawes road (B6479). After one mile, take an obscure right turn through the village of Langcliffe, signposted to Malham. Go up the steep hill and follow the single-track road for four miles. As you drop down again onto Malham Moor look out for a right fork towards Malham. Follow this for half a mile to a minor crossroads. Turn left and High Trenhouse is on the left.

By Train

Skipton is on the Leeds to Carlisle or Carnforth line. Some trains traveling to Skipton stop in Settle a few minutes later.

High Trenhouse is either 30 mins taxi drive from Skipton or 10 mins taxi from Settle Station.

In order to arrange one shared taxi transfer for everyone at the cheapest cost, we encourage you to come to Settle. There will be a taxi arranged from there at 4pm (not included). If you want to arrange your own taxi at an earlier/later time, you can use Stainforth Private Hire on 01729 824 888 or Settle Taxis on 01729 824 824.

To Settle

There are trains about every 2 hours from London, Manchester and Newcastle all via Leeds.

To Skipton

If you are arriving late or coming from further away, you may find it easier to get a taxi from Skipton as more trains stop here than at Settle. There is no shared taxi pick up arranged from Skipton.
