About Us

Transmark Renewables ( is the geothermal development company within the Transmark Group. Together with its sister company, Transmark EDS ( the Transmark grouphas built a very strong and integrated geothermal platform, supported by:

  • Transmark Renewables’ expertise in developing and financing renewable energy projects;
  • Transmark EDS’ and Transmark Services’ (directional) drilling capabilities; and
  • The Transmark Group’s (financial) resources.

Transmark Renewables aims to significantly contribute to the acceleration of the development of geothermal projects all over the world. Transmark Renewables will focus on the establishment of a global platform of geothermal projects, either through co-development with local developers or through Greenfield development.

Transmark Renewables has a dedicated team fully focussed on the global exploration, development of, and investments in,geothermal energy resources. It has promising exploration and production licenses in Turkey and Chile. Furthermore, we have recently successfully acquired two exploration licenses that cover a large part of The Netherlands. Opportunities in other countries are being pursued as well.

The Project

Transmark Renewables is offering a challenging project for a studentto work on Transmark Renewables’ geothermal exploration activities in The Netherlands. The candidate shall take the lead insetting up and performing a desktopstudy modelling fault sealing capacity and overpressures in the potential reservoirs that have been identified and geological and project risks associated with those topics.

We expect that you will show initiative, use your geology skills and leverage our experience to successfully finalize the project.

This project will be performed on a full-time basis and could last between 5 and 7 months. It is open to discussion if this desktop study can be fulfilled as an internship or an MSc thesisand what your location of work will be. However, you are required to work from our Amsterdam office at least part of the week.

Your Activities, Accountabilities and deliverables

You will report to the exploration team in Amsterdam and perform the following activities:

a)Assemble a list of interesting faults and associated wells

b)Prepare a database with well log (mostly GR and pressure data) and seismic data

c)Determine fault offset from well data and/or seismic data

d)Extrapolation of offsets to deeper reservoirs

e)Model sealing capacity of faults at reservoir level

The deliverables for this project include, but are not limited to:

a)Database of well log data

b)A map/3D model showing the areas that are most interesting for a geothermal project

c)A final report including methods, input data, results and a discussion and conclusions

d)An advice on locations that are most interesting for further exploration activity

Your Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a university MSc programrelated to the geosciences
  • Previous internship experience and on-topic knowledge is not required, but will be considered;
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills;
  • Appropriate computer skills and;
  • Problem solver, ‘get it done’ mentality;
