1.  Purpose of the Role

/ To support the development and delivery of Harbour’s training programmes. This will include running our existing training courses for both internal staff and external customers, assessing competence against our substance misuse qualifications and contributing to the development of new training packages as need is identified.

2.  Principal Accountabilities

/ ·  Prepare and deliver training courses and materials, adhering to standards for quality and content.
·  To act as an assessor for both internal and external candidates on our substance misuse qualifications.
·  Contribute to development of assessment and training materials and resources.
·  Provide assistance and information to the Training and Development Co-ordinator and other managers within the organisation, where and when necessary.
·  Maintain effective communication with staff and customers.
·  Timely escalation of relevant issues and progress against team objectives to the Training and Development Co-ordinator.
·  Contribute to cyclical planning and reporting processes for monthly/quarterly/ annual reviews.
·  Support the Training and Development Co-ordinator with internal and external agency communications and projects.
·  Support the Training and Development Co-ordinator with development and implementation of any future additional learning programmes.

3.  Knowledge/Experience/Skills

The post holder should have experience of delivering specialist substance misuse training sessions to learners with different levels of experience and understanding.
The post holder will need to hold a relevant assessing qualification such as TAQA, A1 , D32/33. Previous experience of delivering a substance misuse or health and social care qualification would be advantageous.
The training post requires strong written and oral communication skills and a good grounding in use of IT applications which support training delivery such as Powerpoint.
The post holder will need good organisational and administrative skills to meet the quality assurance requirements of our training programmes.
Knowledge of marketing training and education products would be advantageous.
