Job Title:Trainer/Coordinator

Responsible to:Service Manager (Advocacy, Welfare Benefits, Peer Support and SPA Projects)

Primary Job Purpose:To develop, market and deliver bespoke training to a variety of organisations

Salary:£26,000 pro-rata, 4 days per week

We are looking for an exceptional person to join the York Mind team.

Requests for delivering mental health training from private, statutory and voluntary organisations are rapidly increasing. We are looking for an individual who can develop a portfolio of bespoke training courses for delivery in a variety of settings however, the emphasis will be on Mental Health and resilience. To identify training opportunities, market and deliver one off training sessions and longer term programmes.

The post-holder needs to be confident in delivering a range of training from basic awareness sessions to parent groups, sessions in schools for young people through to supporting employers with a bespoke programme, aimed at training staff in order to reduce stress, staff absence and challenge cultures in organisations that are harmful to mental health.

In addition, we would expect the post-holder to build a portfolio of resources and schemes of work that can be utilised by other York Mind staff to support service-users, volunteers and themselves.

Finally, the post holder would need to work alongside the Senior Management Team to develop promotional materials, a charging policy and identify appropriate avenues to advertise this service.

Person Specification

Essential / Desirable
Qualification / Appropriate training qualification for example, CIPD, PTLLS or a teaching based qualification alongside demonstrable training / teaching experience / Mental Health First Aid Training Qualification
Experience / Significant experience of delivering mental health training to a diverse range of audiences
Experience of developing promotional materials and of meeting with potential training clients to sell our training services
Proven experience of developing creative, interactive training resources for organisations and supporting staff to deliver these to a high level.
Knowledge and Understanding / Knowledge and awareness of mental ill-health, how people’s mental health is impacted and strategies for managing and maintaining mental health and well-being in a variety of settings.
Good understanding of the voluntary sector, including how they are funded and the values and principles which underpin services
Abilities and Personal Attributes / Ability to develop high quality training portfolio’s
Conscientious, used to delivering to deadlines and with a strong attention to detail
Flexible and approachable, with high levels of empathy, when working with colleagues and users of our service
