CONTRACT NO. I – DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

The Town of Sallis has received a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program Funds (Project#: 1132-16-324-PF-01) from the Mississippi Development Authority for a construction project that includes rehabilitating its water system.

Sealed Bids for the construction of the 2016CDBG Water System Improvements – Contract No. I-Distribution System Improvements will be received by the TOWN OF SALLIS, MISSISSIPPI, at _Sallis City Hall_ located at _6267 Front Street, Sallis, MS 39160_ until 10:00 a.m. local time on_September 29, 2017, at which time the Bids received will be opened and read aloud. The Project consists of Installation of approximately 14,360 linear feet of 4” & 2” PVC and P.E. Water Mains complete with Gate Valves, Blow-Off Valves, Tie-Ins, Meter Service Assemblies and other Miscellaneous Items.

Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a unit price basis as indicated in the Bid Form.

Bidding Documents are being made available via original paper copy through Plan House Printing. Persons interested in obtaining plans and specifications are required to register for an account at where they may order Bid Documents upon receipt of a Non-Refundable Payment, by cash or certified check in the amount of $100.00 for each set. Documents can be obtained only by General Contract Bidders. Others may view the Bid Documents at Town of Sallis City Hall located at 6267 Front Street, Sallis, Mississippi 39160, the office of the Engineer, Engineering Service, 115 Aerosmith Drive, Richland, Mississippi 39218, or via the internet at

The work to be performed under this contract is subject to the requirements of Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, as amended 12 U.S.C. 1701u (Section 3). CDBG regulations governing the grant require that, to the greatest extent feasible, opportunities for contracting, subcontracting, training and employment arising in connection with this CDBG project will be extended to Section 3 businesses and Section 3 residents.

Minority and women’s business enterprises are solicited to bid on this contract as prime contractors and are encouraged to make inquiries regarding potential subcontracting opportunities, equipment, material and/or supply needs.
