Community Calendar Listing

Policy and Guidelines

The Community Calendar is intended to be used for the following entities and organizations to display non-commercial events:

• Town of Newburgh departments and agencies;

• Town of Newburgh fire districts, departments, companies and their auxiliaries;

• Town of NewburghVolunteer Ambulance Corps;and

• Town of Newburghbased veterans’ organizations.

Listings of events to the Community Calendar will be provided at the discretion of the Town Clerk based on the following criteria

  • The event is open to the general public;
  • The event is of general interest to the town and its residents;
  • The event takes place within the Town of Newburgh or is Town of Newburgh based; and
  • The event is consistent with community standards.

The Town of Newburgh does not necessarily endorse or support any specific event listed in the Community Calendar and will not be responsible in any way for the event. Please note that required town permits for certain community events are not associated with the listing of an event on the Website

While some Town of Newburgh board and committee meetings will be posted to the Community Calendar, a fullschedule of meetings is maintained by the Town Clerk elsewhere on the website.

The following guidelines apply to Community Calendar listings:

• Listings must NOT include material considered to be obscene or profane.

• Listings may NOT be used to slander or libel any individual or group.

• No listing that discriminates against any individual or group will be posted.

• Listings of regular on-going fundraising activities will not be accepted.

• The listing of all events is subject to approval.

• The Town cannot guarantee the accuracy of a listing.

• The Town reserves the right to reject or edit any listing for any reason.

• The Town reserves the right to edit any submission.

• The Town will act upon the request for removal of a listing by the original sender with reasonable effort but cannot guarantee speedy removal.

• Events will be listed for a reasonable period of time until the event expiration date.

• No advertising or links to commercial sites shall be placed on the Community Calendar.

• Postings from or references to commercial enterprises will not be accepted.

• If there is a fee involved with attendance at or participation in the event, it must be included in the posting and it must benefit the posting entity or a charitable or other non-profit organization or purpose.

• No submission will be considered without valid contact information.

The Town of Newburgh reserves the right to refuse or discontinue posting or listing of any submission at any time, for any reason. Submission does not guarantee the event will be listed. ALL submissions will be reviewed for content and appropriateness before posting. Submissions should be made with enough advance time to allow for review and in consideration of the Town Clerk's schedule. The Town of Newburgh is not responsible for any errors contained in the postings, including but not limited to typographical errors in dates, times or content. Nor is the Town responsible for damages of any kind as a result of typographical error, omissions or inclusions.

Failure to comply with these guidelines / policy will result in loss of submission privileges.
