Position: Accounts Assistant-Payables
Main Responsibilities:
  • Booking of approved invoices for payment on timely basis (MIRO) .
  • Booking of SDV (Bollore) and Base oil invoices respectively
  • Checking that invoices have been properly approved for payment, goods/services received
  • Ensuring that payments are within terms of payment agreed/approved
  • Prepare monthly statement balance reconciliation with ledger accounting account balances
  • Booking of all supplier complaints in register for review by Chief Accountant
  • Checking and ensuring that correct chart of accounts codes are booked for revenue, capital, assets, liabilities, departments and other relevant expense codes
  • Undertake other assignments from chief accountant as delegated
  • Matching suppliers accounts
  • To process GL documents on monthly basis for provisions, accruals ,reversal ,inducement, gross salaries
  • Processing statutory payments e.g.PAYE,WHTand other taxes payable to the State
  • To prepare vendor payments at least two or one day before or after the actual payment day except invoices with queries or invoices which have not yet been received in payables due to various reason.
  • Doing monthly stock takes
  • Avoiding loss of document for suppliers and staff payments

January 2010 August 2012: Institute of Christian Leadership
The Institute of Christian Leadership (ICL) is the Pastoral Centre of the Catholic Diocese of Mpika offering trainings, workshops and seminars for the Diocese and as a way of self sustenance; provides accommodation, conference and cafeteria facilities in Mpika District and the surrounding areas. Overall, ICL is currently the largest institution in the Hospitality industry in Mpika and Muchinga Province with 62 bed space and 3 conference facilities.

  • Payroll maintenance for a staff establishment of 20.
  • Administrative functions as assigned by the Director
  • Institution Accountant and also responsible for all statutory requirements such as NAPSA, ZRA and the Ministry of Tourism.

2009: Chibusa Home Based Care in Mungwi District
Chibusa home based care is a Community Based Organisation formed by people living with HIV/AIDS. With technical support from SNV, the Organisation ventured into production of HEPS (High Energy Protein Supplement) which was sold and / given to PLWHA and the general populace. To scale up their activities; the United States African Development Foundation (USADF) funded the project enabling them acquire equipment to standardize operations and the production of HEPS. The Zambia Agribusiness Technical Assistance CenterLimited (ZATAC Ltd) were engaged as technical advisers to the project.

  • Ensuring Financial reports are sent to ZATAC Ltd and Washington Dc in accordance with USADF guidelines respectively.
Achievements:
  • Establishment of HEPS Market at Kasama General Hospital, Our Lady Hospital, Illondolla RHC, Kayambi RHC , Kasama District Social Welfare office, PJT supermarket and several other Shops in Kasama , Mpika , Mporokoso and Mbala Districts.
  • Together with consultants engaged by ZATAC, we established the Chibusa Home Based Care Finance and Administrative Manual, and the Governance Manuals respectively.

July 2007- To June 2008Finance Bank (Z) Ltd Mpika Branch
Finance Bank (Z) Ltd is one of the leading commercial Banks in Zambia and indigenously owned with over 40 Branches countrywide. In 2006 the Bank embarked on connecting all the branches to the online network for enhanced service delivery.
