TOPIC: CTE STUDENT OF THE YEAR

Congratulations to Jerry Bigelow on earning the CTE Student of the Year scholarship. This honor was well-deserved. On behalf of the entire CTE department, we’d like to say thanks, Jerry, for all you’ve done for our CTE programs. We wish you the best next year in the Army.

TOPIC: PROJECT GRADUATION

SENIORS –The deadline date for your Project Graduation contracts is Friday May 22nd, don’t forget you can bring a guest so get your forms and fees turned in to Ms. Martinka at the Diamond; she also has forms if you still need one. You can turn them in today at your senior class meeting, see the Project Graduation representative there.

We still need food donations (chips, dips, drinks, snacks, fruit, desserts) for the night of Project Graduation you can drop these off Thursday May 28th at Commencement Practice or Thursday/Friday 28th/29th at the Georgetown Community Center in San Gabriel Park.

Seniors we are asking every senior to donate $2 towards special recognition gifts for some special people that have contributed to the success of your senior class. You may bring it to the senior class meeting today or to commencement practice on Thursday and see a Project Graduation representative.

Also-Senior Parents we still need donations/Volunteers for Project Graduation.Please go to volunteer spot to sign up:

· Food Donations – hot dogs, buns, snacks, chips, dips, cookies, brownies, veggie/fruit trays, etc

· Set Up Volunteers – Thursday and Friday

· Volunteers to work event Friday night/Saturday morning

· Clean up crew

· Prizes – gift cards, electronics, sports items, gift baskets, dorm accessories, and monetary donations

Meetings – May 18th and May 25th in the cafeteria 6pm.

Junior Parents – We need help with early event shifts to receive items, to be present when entertainment is being dropped off and set up

TOPIC: SENIOR SERVICE HOURS

So far only 9 senior service hour notices of intent have been submitted.Remember, class of 2016 seniors, you must submit your notice of intent if you plan to do 50 hours of community service between June 1 and March of spring semester. You can get the notice online, from an English teacher, or at the diamond.

PLEASE CONGRADULATE Junior Brianna Mears’ essay regarding political courage was selected for the 2nd round in the national John F. Kennedy Profiles in Courage contest. Only 9% of the over 1900 essays submitted received this distinction. Way to go Brianna!

TOPIC: SAND VOLLEYBALL

EV volleyball has rescheduled the sand volleyball tournament for Saturday June 6th. Please see any of the volleyball coaches or players for more details.Sand tournament Tank tops and t shirts are now for sale for $20 each.All proceeds from this tournament go to the East View Volleyball Booster Club.Registration is due to Coach Coulson in room 624 by Friday June 5th

TOPIC: STRENGTH TRAINING
To all girls that would like to begin Strength Training we will have different levels of workouts here at EVHS starting in two weeks. See Coach Corley or Click on the Link on the front of our School website to Register. It is a 6 week course so if you are vacationing it will not interfere with workouts. Workouts will be from 9-11am Monday-Thursday Starting first week of June.

Have you seen the beautiful, bright red yearbooks being passed around by your friends this week? There’s still time to get one for yourself to remember your classmates and fun times at East View for years to come. Come buy your yearbook in room 128 today.

TOPIC: FOOTBALL FILM CREW

Anyone interested in being part of the football film crew for next seasonplease contact coach Litterst. It can be a boy or a girl. Duties will involve filming practice and helping input video after practice. My office is in the field house coaches office. Come see me if you are interested.
