RE:FINAL DETAILS FOR 2013 FTD

Wisconsin Farm Technology Days is just around the corner! It will be held July 9-11, 2013, near Breezy Hill Dairy near Dallas. With 50,000 to 60,000 visitors expected at this year’s show, we are gearing up for the final stretch run. Thank you for volunteering.

Things You Need to Know

Volunteer Orientation Meeting: 2 times are offered. You must attend one.

1st meeting: Sat. July 6th at 9:00 a.m.

2nd meeting: Sun. July 7th at 5:00 p.m.

Both meetings will take place at the Field Demonstration Headquarters tent located in the field west of the farm house. See the map on the opposite side.

Schedules, t-shirts, passes to tent city will be handed out at this meeting. Tractors and trams will be available for practice driving. See the note on safety training below.

Shift Schedule:

Enclosed is a schedule of all worker shifts. Check for your name on all sheets. We tried to honor your requests as best we could. Some of you volunteered for extra shifts. Take note of your times.

Safety Training for Tractor Drivers:

If you did not attend previous safety training, training will be offered at each orientation meeting on July 6th and 7th. You must be trained prior to driving.

Parking

Parking for Field Demonstration volunteers, tractor drivers, and spotters will be in general parking west of Tent City. You can either hop aboard a tram or walk to the field demo headquarters. If you need assistance, courtesy vehicles will be made available.

Admission Passes

You will receive your admission pass when you attend the orientation meeting either on Saturday, July 6th or on Sunday July 7th. Admission passes are only valid on the day indicated on the ticket. If you forget your passes, you will need to purchase your own admission ticket (no refunds). Admission passes cost $5; youth 12 and under are free.

Weather and Other Notices

When at the show, text WFTD2013 to 25827 to receive texts on weather alerts, special events at the show, traffic news and more. Cancellations due to weather and other important announcements will also be made on the Show website at and on WJMC Radio (96.1 FM or 1240 AM). Please keep tabs on this information so you always know of show changes.

Food on Site

Workers will have to opportunity to purchase food off of a menu at the beginning of the morning shift. A menu will be shared at the volunteer meeting on July 6th and 7th. We need to have food orders in by 9:00 a.m. You will be responsible for paying for your meal. If you are working an afternoon shift, you will need to make arrangements for your lunch or mid-afternoon snack. Water will be provided free to all volunteers all during the day.
